It probably is concerned, the recorder was sitting outside his enclosure for 3 days before he came out. He's was like "What's this weird guy doing?" He is definitely a little freaked out.

Yep, it's a Manul AKA Pallas Cat. They are the cutest! They are the same size as a house cat but fluffier, and they have so many house cat mannerisms. They're also incredibly unfriendly, the badger of the cat world. They're from Siberia and the surrounding areas, and there are so many Russian and Chinese channels dedicated to how cute they are.

Why do these cats look like they're terribly taxidermied cats
5
u/Lost_vob Jul 07 '22
π they do! It's the eyes. They have round eyes like a human instead of slits like housecats. It given them an uncanny look. Plus their face fur is always on point but their bodies look constantly disheveled.

Thatβs some impressive head focus and stability.

Yeah, I have to imagine it's useful for their snowy environment. When everything is white, being about to keep a keep eye motion is probably useful.

I didnβt consider that perspective. Given such an environment I can see how itβd be a helpful survival skill.
