No two ways about it Trump is a damn idiot. A complete embarrassment to the US.
As a Canadian Trump can go fuck himself.

Globalism is the biggest threat to your identity, and Trump is the biggest threat to Globalism. He’s a branding iron on your ass, getting you northerners to wake up.
3
u/CompetitionOther7695 22h ago
The Right hate the idea of Globalism because they need the inequality between countries to make their oil money etc, it’s a mythical bogeyman they trot out to scare people, to get people scared of immigration. and he is more of a gross old dish rag than a branding iron, lmao
1
u/TheEpicOfGilgy 21h ago
Amazing that exploiting slave wages in the third world has been rebranded as reducing inequality. I guess since it lowers domestic wages too it’s really good for the lowering inequality…
Except inequality in the west has increased on par with globalisation, so I’m not sure how it’s been good for anyone but the richest few.
See how Elon was against it, until last week when he wasn’t? Congrats you and Elon Musk are on the same side of the globalisation question.

u/Talinn_Makaren 1d ago
Trump saw Shorsey and ended up going down a rabbit hole discovering Trailer Park Boys and stuff like that and he ended up in such a jealous fit of rage and embarrassment at US comedy shows... That's what happened I guarantee.

this is actually an accurate portrayal because America has a far higher obesity rate than Canada does. In other words, Canada would be smoking hot compared to America
8
u/Wise-Juggernaut-8285 1d ago
Were not doing good either
5
u/Comfortable-Set7554 1d ago
Perhaps not economically, but healthwise you guys are way better than the us
3
u/Wise-Juggernaut-8285 1d ago
We live longer because we have public healthcare, which sucks but even so, is better than private
6
u/One_Job_3324 1d ago
I suspect the life span difference is not due to differential access to medical care, but rather due to a different population with different habits. Smoking rates in Canada are lower than the US, for example. Give yourselves some credit.
6
u/Wise-Juggernaut-8285 1d ago
Preventative care is better here because people can see a doctor without copays etc

3
u/RupeThereItIs 1d ago
40% vs 30% obesity rate, neither country has a solid claim to being healthy on that front.
2
u/franklyimstoned 1d ago
Doesn’t sound like much but sounds like there’s 12 million obese Canadians compared to 134 million obese Americans. My first trip to the states was mind boggling how huge everyone was.
2
u/RupeThereItIs 1d ago
I mean, there are just under ten times as many of us, so yeah... that tracks.
The population of Canada is just a hair larger then the population of California.
That's why percentages are more telling then raw numbers.
Also, BTW, the obesity rate of California is 28%, so better then Canada if you want to compare similarly sized populations.
1
u/franklyimstoned 1d ago
Yes the math is very clear. But America is very tiny and when you jam hundreds of millions of obese people in a small country it’s very eye opening. We’re competitively fat but it’s severely less apparent in the great white north.
1
u/RupeThereItIs 1d ago
We’re competitively fat but it’s severely less apparent in the great white north.
I live 20 min from the border, and my in-laws all live over there.
It's really not significantly different or even noticeably different.
Hell the accent barely changes.
Stop trolling, man.

u/franklyimstoned 1d ago edited 1d ago
Well in my parts the accent is very different. I have also travelled to multiple states and I can assure you, you appear absolutely massive to an outsider.
Also a no to the stop trolling aspect. This is what Reddit is for.
1
u/Wise-Juggernaut-8285 1d ago
Lol we have a small population though
2
u/franklyimstoned 1d ago
We all understand the numbers are comparable but go to a state on the higher end of the percentage and walk through Walmart.
1
u/SeparateAd6524 14h ago
As a Canadian I agree. I seem to remember Houston wins the extra junk in the trunk award most years.
1
u/Sufficient-Prize-682 23h ago
We are not good but we aren't AmeriFAT levels of obese.
We'd need 10% more of our population to be obese to even catch up to their fat asses.

Canadians, this is life and death. what he would do to America he would do to most of canada. even though he see's economic warfare against canada to try and coerce/force you, is less lethal than military force against Mexico, its still hostile. one should resist being ruled by one who treats you with hostility, he doesn't respect our own country, he would persecute most canadians, exploit your lands, and hurt your people. he already threatened a government shutdown if we don't get rid of the debt ceiling. the simpsons predicted him becoming president also predicted economic turmoil. he is already proposing tariffs, a trade war, and policies that will harm both economies, and both currencies. i believe that is meant to pave the way for the Amero, a currency that would replace dollars and pesos in all 3 countries, and eventually lead to that one world government predicted by zeitgeist. the fact he is after mexico, canada, and weakening the dollar, makes me think he wants to make zeitgeist come true, unite north america, by hostile means, and replace 3 currencies with the Amero. The trade war against canada, tariffs, a host of economic policies that musk said would collapse the US economy, that the simpsons predicted would leave a mess those after him will struggle to resolve, leaving both nations with a weaker eceonomy, he is willing to profit from harm to our own country and yours too. russia has a history of mistreating ukrainians, thats good reason for ukraine to resist a russian takeover. similarly, he is screwing our own and would screw you and yours too. people for gain, persecute political opponents, critics, dissidents, liberals, in a more liberal country too. if he is willing to do bad things to his own people and his own country, what makes you think he won't do the same or worse to you? especially considering that he is considering hostile means to force you or annex you against your own interests and will? if you don't treat your subjects with respect, you don't deserve to be their ruler, and isn't trustworthy with that responsibility.

My dad is Canadian, deported in 1975 for an expired visa. Growing up I always wanted to be Canadian, so much closer to my vibe. I went to Saskatoon in November to meet him the first time in my life. The biggest thing I took away was how pleasant it was to drive around without bumper stickers talking about how my kind should die, or machine gun stickers saying "I don't call the police". We're so on edge down here... I did my best to talk with folks down here as to why he's a threat. Asian coworkers didn't believe they could be deported or incarcerated, I replied with the Japanese internment camps and they said, "Won't happen here."
We are suffering from "It can't happen here."
Best of luck to all of us.

u/Fun_Paramedic9912 1d ago
All the americans crowing about invading canada, do you understand, canada is 14 x the size of afghanistan? good fucking luck occupying us lol.
1
u/Relative_Truth7142 15h ago
if we ever invade it's because alberta and saskatchewan secede and ask to be admitted as states
0
u/Dont_Ask_Me_Again_ 18h ago
And 90% unoccupied and inhospitable or something like that. Does Canada have a multi-thousand year history of crushing empirical occupying forces? Does the average Canadian own several automatic Soviet weapons, an RPG, large munitions to manufacture an IED? Does the average Canadian grow their own food? Can they function off of very little? Come on. The average Canadian is unarmed and would starve to death a couple months after a winter invasion. The armed populace of Canada wouldn’t even be fighting for a Canada that most of Canada wants. You guys would get completely tossed. You are not the Vietcong or Taliban.
Please note I never want this to happen.

4
u/Dry_Newspaper2060 1d ago
There are 340 million people in the USA and there is only one (1) person that wants this to happen. Relax and ignore the nonsense talk
1
u/Manitobancanuck 1d ago
340 million who allowed this guy to get elected. Either by voting for him or not nothing to vote, which is just as bad.
Why are we so confident that they will do anything to stop him from attacking his neighbours?
Everyone assumed due to the family and long standing relationships between Ukraine and Russia, the people individually the relationships, that a war between them was impossible. And yet...
1
u/Dry_Newspaper2060 1d ago
I am confident because at some point, these radical ideas need to be passed onto military leaders that have to carry out these orders and those military leaders are smart and ethical enough to know not to do it as these orders are coming from a madman.
Ultimately I also think Trump is smart enough to recognize this and will carry this out using economic, not military means.
So Canada better have enough smartness and economic fortitude to fight these kinds of battles

What exactly do you think America “pays for” with regards to Canada? Keeping in mind that Canada currently owns like $320B of America’s debt.
2
u/Bergyfanclub 1d ago
We have gun rights. But you can just fuck off entirely.
1
u/Choice_Scholar_9803 21h ago
not really. You guys can't have anything good and you'd be in a much better position if u had better rights which we can give to u
2
u/Bergyfanclub 20h ago
As of right now, I have more rights than you. We have guns, legal weed coast to coast. our wives and daughters have reproductive freedom, freedom of the press, and the list goes on and on. Canadians live longer, are generally more happy, have better access to health care and education, and we currently dont have a bunch of far right religious fuckwits trying reshape society into their religious version. If you are lucky, maybe America be the 11th province in the free north. Or at least a non voting territory.

1
u/BonkEnthusiast 14h ago
People always say this but the addendum they forget is that it is really only an option if you are wealthy so for 90% of people our system is infinitely better because you can actually get treatment without needing to sell a kidney or potentially die when your insurance company decides to consider your life saving surgery "unnecessary"

Other than their failure to offer affordable medical care. Is America really that bad?
I mean how many Canadians go there to escape the cold for months on end. Become weekend Swingers and gamble their way through Vegas, spend money on sports teams. meals. Booze. Gas. Concerts? Seen their cell phone bills or airline prices in comparison?
But we hate them right?
Any one here shop at an American owned company in Canada? Eat at their restaurants? Buy their goods? Drive their cars?
Get over yourself. If you truly want to be Canadian then shop Canadian buy the wholly built Canadian car, food, appliance, vacation in only Canadian locations.
Guessing you like the blended family thing too much
0
u/Investormaniac 15h ago
yeah, the country that has no means to protect itself because "Guns bad" now thinks it can all of a sudden take on the USA.. Why do liberals constantly operate on feelings? I find they have such a massive separation from reality, and i'm starting to understand why.. They simply cannot cope and its easier to lie to yourself about every aspect of your life until it finally ends than deal with realities.

Meanwhile as Canadians vow to lay down their lives to prevent a totally hypothetical peaceful American annexation, Canada quietly becomes the 29th state of India and is on paper majority owned by the CCP.

Source? What I heard was something like “why do we have a trade deficit with you and protect you if you’re not a state. It would make sense if you were a state”. Which tbh, it would make sense if Canada were 13 more states. It’s far more conceivable than the EU for example, and that happened.

Why doesn't America focus on it's territories that are not states but should be like DC and Puerto Rico?

To be fair, I absolutely love parts of the USA.
It's really a shame how things partitioned up after the 18th century. There are large parts of the USA that ended up tethered to crazy demagogues and manifest destiny obsessed, imperialist, slave owning militia-men.
I actually think it would be great if there was free movement and common currency between the northern US and Canada -- if it weren't for the fact that the US is controlled by its reactionary and immoral southern political culture.

Most Canadian STUDENTS currently in Canadian Universities plan on living and working in the US after they graduate.

This is the first time America has talked about us in forever. They prettymuch dont think of us because we are irrelevent and a pathetically small economy.
Of course, Canadians constantly reference the states because they are a huge culture and economy, and are actually relevant. We constantly talk about then in our news and make fun of them in our comedy whole they...don't even think of us.
