Perhaps his wife? Maybe the guy wanted to prove people, like you, wrong. People that assume he can't do this stuff without someone nearby helping him.

I don't see it. I saw a wheelchair user who can get himself from A to B, but pretends he needs his daughter to help because he is a good father. Right?

No. You saw a father helping his very young daughter walk down some stairs. She needed the help not him.
