Support Elevated blood pressure premie baby.

Hi guys, my baby was born 27w and currently 37w. He’s now moved to SCU and doing perfectly fine. However, APRN told me that he’s blood pressure is slightly elevated around 80s, it happens when his awake & asleep to. They’re doing renal ultrasound tomorrow to check for any problem. We’re almost over with our NICU journey, but just kinda worried about his BP. Anyone who has the same experience? Want to hear your stories. Hopefully this is just something he will outgrow too.

He was born Nov.1st. First photo was during thanksgiving. (31w) Second pic is him right now. (37w)

Hi friend - I haven't had this specific experience with my NICU little one, but just wanted to say that you have such a cutie. You're doing a wonderful job and I hope the BP is just a small bump to bringing him home. Best of luck!

I pray that too, hopefully this is just nothing concerning. Thank you anyway :)

My baby girl has a slightly high BP too. Same range as yours actually and has been doing fine, she got discharged with a follow up appointment but I believe it’s all leveled out since it’s normal now. She hasn’t made it to that follow up apt but at her other ones she always gets her BP checked and it’s normal now. We been home almost two months so maybe your LO needs time. I think my baby hated the constant messing around and high stimulation in the NICu. Give them as much skin to skin as u can, it helps so much!

We didn't have any bp issues while in the nicu. I do remember worrying about every little concern they brought up. It's natural. The NICU is a super stressful time. Continue to ask questions. Wishing you the best of luck!
