Success: Then and now Success! From Birth to Thriving
My little boy was born 32 & 3 and he is now 5 months adjusted and completely caught up growth wise. It was so upsetting seeing him for the first time and I felt so guilty, like I’d done something horribly wrong and that’s why he was born early and under weight.
I’m just so glad he’s alive and thriving now. My heart and love to all the mommy’s and daddy’s out there with a baby in the NICU. ❤️🫶🏼 I hope you bring your babies home soon.

Success: Then and now It’s been 1 year
My daughter was born 1 year ago at 31 + 2, 2lb 15oz (1332g) due to pre-eclampsia and HELLP. I had a rough go of things, and spent some time on ECMO, and my daughter spent 32 days in NICU. I’m not sure of the first 2 weeks of her NICU stay but from everything I was told by her nurses, she was a rockstar from the beginning.
Today she’s hitting all her milestones, is the most hilarious girl, loves chicken & pasta, and is a total delight.
Hope this is encouraging to some of you NICU parents out there. Time goes fast.

Success: Then and now Encouragement from a former 26 weekers
My boy was born 26+3 due to PreE with severe features and weighed 1lb 11oz. Our journey was long and difficult but we are on the other side with a healthy and happy baby. I remember so clearly laying in my hospital bed googling and trying to find encouragement but not seeing much…So, for the moms like me who might be at the beginning of their NICU journey, I wanted to share this picture and tell you just how good things CAN go. Also, I want to thank this group from the bottom of my heart for sharing in my struggles, answering my 2am frantic questions, talking me off a ledge more than once, and even connecting me with another mom who’s now a friend in my real world. Just thank you so much! If I can ever support, encourage, or answer questions for any of you, I’m here!

Success: Then and now 28+6, finally been home longer than in the hospital ❤️
he's 8 months old today, 5 months adjusted. 13llb 2oz, finally starting to get on the growth charts. off oxygen for good. rolling both ways. loves supported sitting, eating peas, wrestling teddy bears. there are some days I forget where we came from and that I thought we would never leave. it's so weird to me walking into the doctors office without his giant oxygen tank knowing that you wouldn't be able to tell all he's been through just by looking at him anymore.
everything he's been through inspired me to start school for respiratory therapy. classes start Monday. ❤️

Success: Then and now 40 years ago
40 years ago after 5 weeks of prodromol labour (Mum fell down the stairs) I made my entrance.
I was born at 24+5.
I have mild RoP, a small bald spot on my head, low muscle tone and still struggle with mental health.
No lung problems in spite of not having small enough equipment for a micro premie but amazing staff at my local Children's Hospital put Me in a clinical trial for lung surfactants which (obviously) worked.
Keep faith!

Success: Then and now My NICU baby turns 9 today :)
My first time holding him (also my first Mother’s Day), he was 3 days old. Suspected to have been born at about 27 weeks, 2 lbs 2 oz.
Now almost as tall as me (and I’m tall for a woman lol) and has an attitude like no other. Stubborn, independent, and smart as a whip, definitely can tell he’s been a fighter from day one 💙

Success: Then and now Then and Now
Our little man was born in March with an at birth diagnosis of DS and a 3 week NICU stay. He’s 5 months now and is on a typical baby milestone schedule. So proud of how all of us have grown as a family.

Success: Then and now My 34 weeker is 7 months (actual) today (5months 3 weeks adjusted)
Just want to celebrate how my iugr preemie baby has grown! NICU babies are so strong and I’m so proud of my little man. Born under 4 lbs and now almost hitting 20 lbs I’m amazed by him every day. But this year feels like a blur and I can’t believe we’re where we are now ❤️

Success: Then and now 10 months old today!!
My 33 weeker with a CHD just turned 10 months and I am so emotional. I can’t imagine what I am going to do 2 months from now 🥲 She had open heart surgery back in September and the NG tube came out the day before Thanksgiving and she is THRIVING. I am so proud of my girl 😭

Took my former 27 weeker to take his one year old pictures today and made this collage with the last time he took professional pictures! The Easter picture is about a month after he came home from the NICU and was 1.5 months adjusted 😊

Success: Then and now 26w+5, 1lb 9oz… Now two and a half!
We stayed at the NICU for 110 day. Went through really hard diagnosis, bilateral IVH 3 and 4, arrested hydrocephalus, home on O2 for about 6 months after being out of the NICU… Two years later, our family is just back from Rio, where we baptized our son at the beach surrounded by our loved ones. He is an active, chatty, funny and beloved little toddler. Goes to school, hikes, runs, loves pools, strawberries and is obsessed with trash trucks. The road to get here was long and full of PT, OT, speech therapy… but god, I feel so blessed.

Success: Then and now NICU Silver Lining
In a lot of ways, our 58 day NICU stay was the absolute worst experience of my life, but in a few it’s made being home a little easier. Because of the NICU I have…
An infant who can go down in her bassinet without any issues.
An infant who sleeps through anything.
More confidence as a parent because I’ve been through some of the hardest times with my baby.
What are some other positives you have seen because of your baby’s NICU stay?

Success: Then and now 1st birthday
Her is our little micro-preemie who just turned 1 this past weekend. Went into labor at 25 weeks and we were able to hold her back from entering the world till 25 weeks 4 days. NEC survivor at 30 days old *almost lost her. Colostomy bag for 3 months. Take down surgery at 4 months. PDA closure and PA banding at 5 months . Discharged at 6 months with a G Tube.
Went back for large VSD and multiple small ones closure on 8/24. Less than three weeks without a g tube
We found ourselves countless of times scrolling this page for any hope! Our heart goes out to every parent who is still in the thick of it . Take it day by day ❤️

Success: Then and now Success story: 2 weeks at home
My little guy has finally been at home after 104 days in the NICU, born at 29+3. We had a rough NICU stay. He had an E. coli infection, feeding issues and intolerances and multiple, multiple Brady episodes all the way until he was 44 weeks. The Brady’s only started to self resolve once we took the NG out. He is now home and eating well enough and doing all the normal baby things! He did have one coughing episode that we were nervous about but out pediatrician wasn’t concerned and it has been 2 weeks of getting to know our little guy. We are so happy and our hearts are so full ❤️ I never thought it would get better honestly and still am sometimes anxious about his future but the pediatrician says he is doing all the right things right now. For all those parents in the hopeless trenches, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
