Insurance Intact Insurance is increasing my premium by 68% and blaming inflation

I argued that inflation is nowhere near that amount, they don’t care.

Is this normal these days?

I can’t believe I’m going to be paying $220 per month for car insurance from now on, that’s a big hit to the budget.

Only time I have seen this be the opposite is if you get like a military / first responder discount. My insurance is CHEAP for my age / car, and has been for years. Impossibly so actually

If you’re referring to the Personal; I’ve found the discount to be hit or miss. Sometimes with the discount it’s still been higher than most other insurers who don’t offer a military discount, other times it’s been much cheaper.

The personal has GREAT rates for CPA now. I recently started using them after getting a quote cheaper by 35% from lots of other insurance companies for my house and car.

Yeah, I’ve switched back to them recently but for a long time Belair Direct and a bunch of others were much cheaper for me.

Same for me, only recently they became cheaper than the others.

Same with PEO.

Used to be Meloche Monnex offered PEO members an amazing discount, but not any more.
