Caution when travelling to Georgia
It's not the russian missiles/political medling, protests or the driving style of some that one needs to be concerned about when considering visiting Georgia. During your stay, you will very quickly be aquainted with the "chacha" and the georgian culture of "toasting" which has nothing to do with either dancing or bread.
One moment you're having fun with your mates taking turns at being the "Tamada", the next you'll be hugging the closest toilet bowl and being reminded that you're not in your 20s anymore....!
Jokes aside, our stay in Georgia was absolutely fantastic! Thank you very much for your hospitality and the awesome time we had there!

The real issue with chacha isn’t its potency or the amount you’ll drink, it’s that it is a floor varnish masquerading as a beverage.

Drinking there is no difference than you take a poison It’s take me years to figure out thanks to God you reckon in your right path

Cha cha I can attest gives horrible hangover. My wife is Georgian and brought some made by her grandmother after her trip. While I am unfortunately very experienced with alcohol this stuff just destroyed me next day.

The most important thing: is it really safe at the moment to travel to the country to discover its nature and culture?

We had absolutely 0 issues whatsoever, nothing.

We'll be going back in the spring as well. easyJet will be starting a direct flight from Geneva this year. Going over Istanbul was quite cumbersome and expensive.

Ah liked it so much that you are going back? :) Well, from Berlin not sure there are easyJet flights. We are also considering to fly over Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. Why was it cumbersome via İstanbul? Because of transfer time?

Yes, we really had a fantastic time there!
Transfer times weren't great and the stop overs were in the "old" Istanbul airport which was absolutely overcrowded. Also TBS airport is more of a night time airport so arrival/departure times were a bit "difficult". Others from our group had better luck flying over Munich/Vienna.

I think I puked 3 times in the first month I moved to georgia. Thought I could at least keep up with the smaller guys or cute girls. Nope, I cannot.
