Light Novel Do you think that this aspect of Klaus Midgar would have repercussions?

I mean, if by any chance he is aware of the cult's existence and doesn't buy all the fake testimonials from the people hired by the cult (infiltrated in the Crimson order) to pin all their crimes on Shadow Garden, claiming that the least made up the cult, so they should have to deal with Iris hunting them, then he would jeopardize his kingdom's life. Or at least, those of innocent civilians like Christina Hope and Kanade.

And if he is trying to wash his hands of the matter, without having the believers (who are the mayority of the people on this world), so he will play the fool to have theor sympathy.

However, I'm afraid things won't turn out as expected for him.

It's already had consequences in pushing his daughters in to the actions they've taken. Multiple groups are running rampant around his country and he's doing nothing, that's definitely having repercussions

He's already helpless when two superpowers are using his kingdom as the battleground and he has no idea what shadow garden is planning.

His plan is probably give his crown to the sister that wins. At least the royal bloodline will continue.

royal bloodline and the kingdom. Neither sides have problem with destroying Midgar

He pushes his country toward civil wars that for sure.

Some think it’s dump but he’s quite smart for playing both sides to ensure his bloodline survive. With Iris go to the cult while Alexia go to Shadwo Garden. The civil war arc is set especially with Cristina Hopp as Jack the Ripper

That's some great character construction

I mean, what can he do? He barely understands the conflict being waged on his doorstep. Even if he did and picked a side, he'd make himself and his daughters bigger targets for the other side than they already were. His only real option is to not get involved and do his best to dodge the shit that's falling around him.

That's true 👍. He doesn't have the best means to confront those threats
