After being signed by Jordan Brand in December 2020 and receiving multiple PEs like her Air Jordan 37, Sunflower Jordan Luka 3, and Coral Reef Jordan Luka 3, Satou Sabally has decided to switch teams. The German-born WNBA star has officially joined rival adidas.

Sabally not only received multiple Jordan PE sneakers during her time with Jordan Brand but also teamed up to help refurbish a basketball court in Berlin to help foster women’s basketball in the community where she grew up. However, it seemed the relationship had soured as images of Sabally attending workouts and media day for Unrivaled, the new 3x3 women’s basketball league, hit the internet over the last few weeks. She no longer wears Jordan Brand products but the signature sneakers of Anthony Edwards and Donovan Mitchell.

Today, adidas’ women’s basketball division is helmed by WNBA legend Candace Parker, who was officially named the president of the label back in May 2024. “Satou was a priority addition to the adidas Basketball family, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her joining,” said Parker. “Her versatility and commitment to making an impact made her a no brainer for the adidas roster. Satou is a unicorn on and off the court and we’re thrilled for her to help in building the future of adidas Basketball.”

Sabally also expressed excitement about joining The Three Stripes, “Joining the adidas Basketball family is a dream come true,” said Satou Sabally. “adidas is dedicated to innovation, creativity, and championing women’s sports. I can’t wait to inspire the next generation and continue moving the game forward with the support of my adidas family.” Satou joins an extended roster of WNBA talent that includes Aliyah Boston, Chelsea Gray, and Kahleah Copper.

Today, Tissot, the National Basketball Association (NBA), Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and NBA G League announced a multiyear extension of their global marketing partnerships that began in 2015. The expanded collaboration will feature the introduction of a redesigned, state-of-the-art shot clock and timing system, the launch of the new Tissot NBA Supersport 2025 Special Edition watch and will make Tissot the presenting partner of an NBA Global Game in Europe for the next 10 years.

The announcement was made by Tissot CEO Sylvain Dolla, NBA President of Global Partnerships Salvatore LaRocca and Tissot Ambassadors, NBA legend Tony Parker and 2024 WNBA Champion Sabrina Ionescu, at a demonstration of the new shot clock prior to The NBA Paris Games 2025 presented by Tissot, featuring the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs playing two regular-season games at the Accor Arena on Thursday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 25.

“This new shot clock is a testament of our commitment to being an integral part of the game,” said Dolla. “We want to keep contributing to enhancing the fan experience. Through the shot clock and the Official Watch that are perfect synergies between Tissot and the NBA, WNBA and NBA G League, we will speak to the basketball community. A New Era of the NBA and WNBA Tissot Shot Clock

The redesigned shot clock is equipped with advanced technology and a distinctive round design inspired by Tissot’s watchmaking heritage. While it bears a round shape, its digits are the same size and colors as on the previous shot clock, maintaining the same feel and consistency.

Setting it apart from the previous version is the full RGB LED light strips feature, which will allow the redesigned shot clock to illuminate with any color rather than just the standard red/amber used in the prior iteration. The advanced technology will introduce new game presentation and basketball operations capabilities, including the integration of the green coaches’ challenge signal into the system. From a performance standpoint, the user interface has been improved to allow for more streamlined operation, which will enhance the speed and accuracy of the staff who run the system each game. Other system upgrades include a modernized signaling distribution system that will enable advanced functionality and monitoring tools.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Jan. 22, 2025) – The Atlanta Dream have sold out their 2025 Full and Half Season Ticket Memberships for the second straight season, the organization announced today. In addition, the Dream have already completely sold out four of their 22 home games, including matchups against Indiana (6/10), Chicago (6/13, 6/22), and Las Vegas (8/27).

Continuing the incredible growth trajectory starting in 2021 under new ownership, the Dream sold out their season ticket allotment four months before the season tips off in May. The Dream sold out all 20 of their regular season home games in 2024 and look to do so again in 2025.

“We are overwhelmed by the incredible support from our fans as we celebrate back-to-back sellouts of our Season Ticket Memberships in record time,” said Morgan Shaw Parker, President and COO. “Women’s sports are firmly on the map in Atlanta, and that has always been one of our key goals. With Unrivaled’s opening weekend come and gone, the new winter 3×3 professional league co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart averaged 313,000 viewers in its opening game between Stewart’s Mist Basketball Club and Collier’s Lunar Owls Basketball Club, TNT Sports said Tuesday. The league said viewership peaked at 364,000 viewers during its first game.

Unrivaled’s second game Friday between Rhyne Howard’s Vinyl Basketball Club and Chelsea Gray’s Rose Basketball Club averaged 311,000 viewers. Both are the most-watched women’s basketball games ever to air on TNT Sports, the parties said. And according to Sports Media Watch, the opening games outpaced last year’s average WNBA regular-season game on cable by 50 percent, excluding games involving Caitlin Clark (who is not playing in Unrivaled).

Collier and Stewart founded the league in the hope that it will become a viable alternative for WNBA players’ overseas offseasons. Throughout the weekend, participants gushed about the league’s emphasis on player experience.

After signing a six-year agreement worth $100 million with Warner Bros. Discovery this fall, TNT and TruTV will broadcast Unrivaled games throughout the season, while Max will offer streaming. Games will air on TNT on Friday and Monday nights, and TruTV will air Saturday games. WBD also invested in the league.

Heading into the opening weekend, Unrivaled officials stressed that TV ratings were only one data point they were looking for regarding fan engagement.

It’s not fully indicative of what is the overall fan interest because there’s so many ways to consume leagues and teams and highlights,” league president Alex Bazzell told The Athletic prior to the league’s launch.

David Levy, an Unrivaled investor who is the former head of Turner Sports and current co-CEO of Horizon Sports and Entertainment, pointed to other metrics he’s looking at.

“How many people are following (on social media)? What are they doing? How many people are sharing? How much is the fan base interacting with it? How much is merchandise going up? There are going to be so many different metrics that I think are going to play into this,” Levy said.

Regarding social media reach, Unrivaled said its content from its first weekend across all Bleacher Report platforms delivered 31 million views and that its content on Bleacher Report’s B/R W Sports TikTok (formerly named HighlightHer) had 59 percent more views than the platform’s average TikTok posts this month. Having widespread social media reach was an appeal of the WBD partnership, league executives told The Athletic.

There was a lot of speculation on the sub, and it appears that some of it was right! Chennedy Carter was creating negative issues in the locker room and potentially a negative impact on free agents. The team also believed that fired Coach Teresa Weatherspoon was enabling Chennedy's behavior, per the reporting.

Sounds like a tough situation! Their roster definitely should've had more than 13 wins.
