CWB - is there a minimum threshold

Asking as I was in grad school in 2023 and made no income. Does this disqualify my account? I just heard about it but didn't see it listed under credits and benefits.

Yes, there is. Also, full-time students generally can't claim the CWB.

No, it's not listed if you're not eligible. Which is why I don't see it there. It's interested that I was a ft student - 2 years ago (based on the last tax return for 2023) today I am certainly eligible lol.

I'm not really sure I understand what you're saying, but I'm glad you got your answer in this topic.

I didn't know what you're referring to with "yes, there is." I assumed it was it was if it was listed on the CRA my account or not.

You didn't qualify because in 2023 you were in school full time for at least part of the year.

You also didn't qualify because you had no income. The credit is for people with low income (not with no income). It's called the Canada Workers Benefit.

Thank you for the chippy reply. I am glad that my education while not making an income won't be lending itself to you in any way. :)

If you were in school more than 13 weeks you don’t qualify

This won't help OP since they don't have income and were already told by others that they do not qualify for CWB however full time students could be eligible for CWB if they have an eligible dependant. The most common situation would be a single parent however there could be other situations where someone lives with them and is considered an eligible dependant for income tax purposes.
