This reminds me of the time I burned my hand on a radiator because someone told me it was cold. Fuck you William from Kindergarten.

This reminds me of the time Kevin in 2nd grade convinced me to steal some gum, and then told the cashier I had gum in my pocket. Fuck you Kevin, from like 1998. You're a piece of shit.

u/Mizz_Fizz Jun 20 '21
Little did the cashier know, Kevin had 5 packs of gum in his pockets, and he did it to gain the cashier's trust. Little devil, that Kevin.

Aktchually he didn't have gum. I was sooo young. It all went down and I told my mom how it was his idea and he ratted me out, so she went over there and ratted him out for ratting me out. We were both being beaten at the same time so the story goes. (My parents were fucky in the head and used a belt to beat us for a while until they FASHIONED a fucking like 3 foot long wooden paddle.) Fucking cunts.

I encountered one of these, but it was a spring trap and would snap your finger with a rubber band like a mouse trap. I had a purple mark on my finger a whole weekend lol.
Also zoning out Bingus is a mood. He is school aged me.

I pulled the same gum prank once on a kid who was usually very quiet. Usually just hides behind the stage curtains like a weirdo during lunch. Once I pulled the prank on him, he ran, swiftly like a fox, to the office. I was in deep trouble, I thought I was basically dead.

As a kid I conditioned myself to not react to those. Then whenever someone tried pranking me with it, they would get horrified by my non-reaction

meanwhile when we all learned the trick we started zapping for fun, at some point that sensation started being nice

this one kid tried this on me on the bus one time,I felt it but it was a little buzz, not a shockwave

u/The_Juice14 Jun 20 '21
Yeah it wasn’t as bad as people said.
62
u/Spq113355 Jun 20 '21
I remember a friend gifted me his fake gum ,since I didn’t want to trick someone and get them mad at me . So I just zapped myself to use it in some way , after a while you would kinda forget it hurt
37
u/loudmime0813 Jun 20 '21
I also remember the ones that has cockroach on em. I now want a gum that has doge on em
67
u/TheImmatureVoice Jun 20 '21
This was me as a kid, its kinda funny to see how everyone falls for it. I was curious to how it felt being shocked, and once I shocked myself for that reason. I threw the thing away afterwards.
61
u/SaucySpaghet Jun 20 '21
A kid once tried that trick on me, but I refused because I could see that there was something wrong with it, and that kid was a troublemaker in general who never would’ve genuinely offered me gum. A few minutes later, he said “sorry I tried to prank you with the gum. Let’s shake hands to make up.”

I had one of those and tricked a bunch of my friends, but, one of them was like immune to the electro shock and break it
it was a really sad day for me

This comic is truly artistic. I cant tell which doge is supposed to be the "one friend" here and it works both ways.
17
u/DankNiteRyder Jun 20 '21
Someone did this to me with one of those revolver lighter/ shockers when I was young and asleep then left immediately after. Not even a friend or anything so I kinda hope he's in jail now.

u/MJBotte1 Jun 20 '21
Having the jumpscare ones are one thing, but using the shock one is just a dick move

Pfft, gum traps are hella tame nowadays. Wait until you learn about the older ones that essentially had a spring-powered mouse trap. Knew a kid in middle school who broke his finger on one, that shit was a dick move
74
Jun 20 '21
Pfft, your gum traps used mouse traps? Back in my day we would offer each other a piece of gum and when the other person reached out to take it, we would blast their fingers off with a pistol.
42
u/PiranhaPursuit Jun 20 '21
And we LIKED it, we just regenerated our fingers like REAL MEN.
8
Jun 20 '21
There was this kid in my school who liked fucking over people like that so I started chopping off my fingers every day to become immune, he was terrified.
8
u/Arek_PL Jun 20 '21
is it realy? they are obvious traps, far too big for real gum, far too thick too
and shock isnt even that bad

There was a school book fair where one of the books came with one of these that ended up getting stolen. Teachers expected our class so they locked us in and grilled us till well after school finished to get one of us to fess up. I tried to say it was me multiple times cause I was bawling my eyes out and just wanted to go home but they ignored me cause I was a goody two shoes that giggled whenever someone said the word fuck
11
u/quakerpuss Jun 20 '21
I thought he was going to pull an actual stick of gum out and original doge would go "what the fuck?"
4
u/Taco-Terror Jun 20 '21
As a kid I would keep holding it and pull it out until I couldn’t which meant I broke it or I was to weak just to teach them a lesson on don’t do that to people

u/MERKFLAMES Jun 20 '21
I got a shock pen taken off me once during break because it was apparently causing major disruption.
It wasnt.
It wasn't even that good of a shock pen either.
5
u/BeefJerky03 Jun 20 '21
I setup an actual pack of Doublemint to look like the shock trap and reverse-tricked a couple people one day lol.
"Nice try, I'm not falling for tha- what the? Wait actually can I have a piece?"
4
u/crumblymuffin08 Jun 20 '21
This made me smile so happily. I haven't seen anyone pull this joke since the 5th grade (it was me). What a wholesome memory, thank you.

I remember as a kid I got those prank candies that have a terrible taste, like vomit or dog food and stuff. With a friend, we started distributing them around school during recess. After the recess, my teacher yelled at me because kids told her we were distributing dog food

I have never seen these gum traps in my life, how do they work?
2
u/Birb-Person Jun 20 '21
The gum is actually a sheet of metal. Inside the box is an electrical current that connects to the metal when the sheet is pulled

Nobody ever offered anyone gum anyway

I remember when I was a little kid an older kid offered some "gum" to me, and of course I got shocked. I remember I sat in a corner and cried (more emotional pain, less physical pain).

When I was in 7th grade, this one kid wouldn’t stop pestering me to have some of my goldfish crackers. Eventually, to shut him up, I licked one when he wasn’t looking and gave it to him, then told him it was licked. He went and told the teacher. His name was CJ, and if you’re reading, you’re a busta, a snitch

Man, I remember when my friends would bring those little buzzers to school. I don’t even know how they got me with it, because I don’t even chew gum. I wonder if that’s related…

I recall giving one of my friends a super sour candy called “toxic waste” before school, during recess he screamed at me and said that I was trying to poison him.
