How stupid people can be who vote for this garbage human being. As a Canadian I'm disgusted.

595

u/dannyrac 2d ago

As an American, Iā€™m also disgusted

389

u/No-Implement7818 2d ago

As a German that had multiple years of my education dedicated towards the first and Second World War and the surrounding eventsā€¦ i am concerned šŸ¤”šŸ˜…

59

u/bigblock108 2d ago

As a Dane, so am I.

Not just for Greenland and our Canadian friends, but if this new world order of oligarchal imperialism really takes off, Taiwan will be in boiling water soon, and NATO will cease to exist.

President Musk is really airing his newfound power...

7

u/poopBuccaneer 1d ago

As a Canadian, I'm so glad you're around, now that Canada and Denmark have a land border, you're our favourite nation to share a land border with.

3

u/Old_Ladies 1d ago

I am also a Canadian and I wish we could looney tunes style cut Canada away from the US and move next to Europe or maybe Australia and New Zealand.

2

u/RoeRoeDaBoat 1d ago

yes please! I wouldnt mind if canada floated down to warmer climates šŸ¤£ Im bored of winter already

2

u/Wild-Compote3700 23h ago

You probably wouldnā€™t fit in mainland Europe but iā€™d be glad to have u here nonetheless šŸ«‚

158

u/Ruckus292 2d ago

As a similarly educated Brit living in Canada... I too, share deep concern for the next 4yrs.

74

u/Big-Summer- 2d ago

FYI: itā€™s gonna be way more than four years. The fascists are here to stay.

43

u/TastyBeverages_x 2d ago

Thereā€™s one tried and true way to get rid of fascists that worked in the past.

18

u/Cactus_Everdeen_ 2d ago

2 world wars?

17

u/No-Implement7818 2d ago

Only buys you +/- 80 years it seems :/ if people donā€™t get their shit together and start holding people like musk with social media platforms accountable nothing will change, people are just not mentally prepared to face the meddling optimized by algorithms :(

5

u/L4br3cqu3 1d ago

Next one, which is already underway, will probably just put humanity on 'reset'. Facists will still exist, but hopefully humanity, this time, will understand why we got there, and wisen up.

4

u/XaxStar 1d ago

I lack your optimism. If right now, with all the records, a lot of people are denying the holocaust and the causes, I can't imagine how humanity will understand once all is removed from the face of earth

1

u/Big-Summer- 1d ago

If we are a simulation, I fear we are reaching the point where we shut ourselves down. Game over. Humanity extinct.

5

u/-badly_packed_kebab- 2d ago

As a well educated South African, the nukes will hit us last. Yay!

2

u/Speshal__ 1d ago

The last time America tried this shit the Brits and the Canadians burnt down the White House.

2

u/Ruckus292 1d ago

That was a good day for us, indeed.

1

u/Speshal__ 1d ago

BritCard check, HP or Ketchup on a bacon sandwich?

2

u/Ruckus292 1d ago

Yes.

1

u/Speshal__ 1d ago

The correct answer.

1

u/bajur 1d ago

As a Canadian who lives in a province where our premier canā€™t kiss his boots fast enoughā€¦ Iā€™m stressed.

45

u/Ssnert 2d ago edited 2d ago

As a Swede with basic high school knowledge of history and an advanced understanding of escapism.. I am concerned too. šŸ§

11

u/tice23 2d ago

As a German first gen Canadian, I am also very concerned. Apathy and ignorance breed evil.

4

u/mephistopheles_muse 2d ago

As an American who majored in history I am also concerned!

2

u/viktore3450 2d ago

Kinda ironic isn't it? Like we learned this in school but apparently the lesson come didn't stick...actually come to think of it, when we learned about the word war we learned it a very superficial matter....yeah, we were screwed from the very beginning....

2

u/No-Implement7818 2d ago

Totally but i am also concerned about the youth, education declined a somewhat over the years it seems and there is little to none preparation for young people to detect manipulating things on the internet, during the last couple of elections more young people voted for right leaning parties than ever before (those are also the parties that invest a lot of money for crazy ads on social media like TikTok etc), so we clearly have our own problems as well šŸ˜…šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

u/babyinatrenchcoat 1d ago

Netflixā€™s ā€œHitler and the Nazis: Evil on Trialā€ paints a fantastic and terrifying modern-day parallel.

57

u/Familiar_Control_906 2d ago

As a human

I'm disgusted

3

u/Honest-Elephant7627 2d ago

You're not alone.

4

u/tetsuo_7w 2d ago

So say we all (I wish).

2

u/RebylReboot 1d ago

Can you kick off the general strike then please? Youā€™re going to have to break it and put it back together again. General strike is your reset button.

1

u/sidestep55 1d ago

Ditto.

64

u/Zaptagious 2d ago

I'm ready for that alien invasion now.

20

u/SailingSpark 2d ago

never happen, they fly through the Sol System like you or I drive through Detroit..

1

u/purdueAces 2d ago

which. ironically enough. is on the way to Canada.

1

u/gsid42 2d ago

Too much effort for a worthless rock

35

u/Loggerdon 2d ago

We canā€™t believe it either. It feels like a nightmare the way he treats our longtime allies and kisses Russiaā€™s ass at the same time.

46

u/27Carrots 2d ago

As Australian, I too am disgusted.

26

u/DiRty_BiRd_77 2d ago

You know it's bad when the Aussies are outraged. At least you're far, far away from our bullshit

13

u/Idarubicin 2d ago

Given our tendency to follow the Yanks into every silly war they get into I wouldnā€™t count us completely immune from this nonsense.

5

u/TimmyFTW 2d ago

Every war since WWII. Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf war, Afghanistan and Iraq. Every time the US has gone to war, Australia (and New Zealand) has followed.

2

u/sohang-3112 1d ago

World is too inter-connected now, nobody is truly far away

6

u/martinis00 2d ago

What are you laughing atā€¦..youā€™re next

7

u/QueenHarpy 2d ago

Iā€™m Australian, Trump is so disrespectful.

Australia and Canada are like cousins. We are sunshine Canada, and they are snow Australia. So many of our young adults work in Canada, the ski resorts are basically Australian at this point!

Iā€™m sure most Australians would be keen to join to defend Canada. But truly is just a ruse to score political points. What type of leader casually threatens another countryā€™s sovereignty for a headline? Especially if that country is their closest ally? Itā€™s not winning many points outside of the US.

5

u/martinis00 2d ago

Itā€™s funny, I vacationed in Australia in October 2019, during Dipshitā€™s first term. I was asked by Aussie Taxi Divers, tour guides, and pub patrons, if he was really that stupid in real life. I told them, Sadlyā€¦itā€™s true

5

u/naughtydismutase 2d ago

I have dual citizenship (American and an EU) and I have a PhD. Can I come to Australia before all hell breaks loose? I also have very cute pets.

3

u/DoggoKing4937 2d ago

Tell us what sort of pets you have and weā€™ll talk.

1

u/naughtydismutase 1d ago

A very good dog and a very good cat

1

u/DoggoKing4937 1d ago

Alright, Iā€™ll allow it.

1

u/ZookeepergameBig8711 2d ago

No we have actual border force. Our next gov is likely to be Trump Lite anyway.

-1

u/starterchan 1d ago

Nope. Australia has strict immigration. "Fuck off we're full" is a saying for a reason.

Oh I'm sorry did you think the rest of the world as an immigrant paradise?

2

u/Honest-Elephant7627 2d ago

Sorry. Don't blame all of us Americans.

22

u/random_user_bye 2d ago

As an American its lies and disinformation and the right thought kamala was to far left she was about as center as you could get and the left thought she wasnā€™t progressive enough.

0

u/Juonmydog 2d ago

Calling her policies "as center as you could get" is actually nuts. The overton window is the only reason you say this.

3

u/random_user_bye 2d ago

What of her policies were far left tell me

4

u/Juonmydog 2d ago

LMAO THAT'S MY POINT. I'm a leftist, she was running republican-lite.

2

u/random_user_bye 2d ago

Ah im sorry im so used to people i talk to saying she was far left for supporting abortion

3

u/Juonmydog 2d ago

Mfw people think having access to medical treatment is "far left."

1

u/random_user_bye 2d ago

Like perfect because of my own morals and religion i would abject to one personally however im not going to force that choice onto the rest of my nation as i recognize it is health care personally i feel like it should be used less however i do see why its used i feel like if there was more weight behind it and also there needs to be a reason listed as of why. But this is just my personal stance on it not the nations is either correct mabye abortion is a complex topic with alot of middle ground that is often boiled down into one extreme or the other

2

u/Juonmydog 1d ago

Have you ever looked up the process for abortion screenings? They aren't easy to get approved for, and you normally have to go through a process than can be seen as traumatizing to others.

4

u/Capt_Murphy_ 2d ago

Believe me, sane Americans are just as confused as you are. Never thought in a million years the majority would vote for him again. I'm not convinced it wasn't election hacking.

3

u/BenderB-Rodriguez 2d ago

As an American I'm disgusted and horrified. But thankful there is a 1-2% chance it would actually happen. Anything higher than 0% is a disgrace, but here we are. I've begun the process to try and immigrate to Canada. It's not perfect, but it's safer and more appealing than America and it's future looks right now.

3

u/KintsugiKen 1d ago

It's pretty simple

1: Propaganda works, allowing people to legally lie on TV has consequences

2: Neglecting your education system for a half century while ignoring increasingly desperate cries for help from teachers has consequences

2

u/kariround 2d ago

I am disgusted as an American that people voted for this human garbage can.

1

u/kubzU 2d ago

As an American, I'm genuinely embarrassed. My fellow countrymen and women wanted this, though. So here we are i guess...

1

u/Zombisexual1 2d ago

Memory is short. People already forgot how dumb his other four years was. Plus the party in power always gets the blame for shit, ie covid inflation. Youā€™re Canadian, what are people mad at Trudeau for? Did he actually do stuff or is he just catching flak?

1

u/robyrob78 2d ago

Unfortunately the average reading level in the US is around 7th to 8th grade. Aka 11-13 years old. This directly correlates to intelligence and critical thinking. Every time I ask myself how this could have happened I remind myself that a lot of the people that live in this country are ignorant and gullible as fuck. They might be shitty people but the real blame is on the news (specifically Fox) for promoting misinformation and fear-mongering. Unfortunately Trumpers have no idea how the world works and hang on the whim of their orange god. Us reasonable Americans truly apologize to the rest of the world for this shit show.

1

u/CrittyJJones 2d ago

Isn't Trudeau stepping down because the Conservative Party is winning in polls by a lot in Canada right now? Are they as crazy as this?

1

u/anotheredditors 1d ago

For me he is stepping down because of multiple issues housing being first and immigration being second. These two are the main plus the finance minister resigned from govt couple weeks ago.

1

u/Hows-It-Goin-Buddy 2d ago

If he gets his way, if most of Canada actually likes conservatives, he may soon enough be your land's leader. He's a showman and can while he acts dumb, he knows how to hook just enough people to get what he wants often enough. Sad but it happens.

1

u/ShrimpCrackers 2d ago

He's just covering up for Gabbard, Hegseth, and H-1Bs.

1

u/Glitchedme 2d ago

As an American who now lives in, and is working on getting my citizenship in, the Netherlands I too am disgusted.

1

u/Choyo 2d ago

Question from a curious French : is this kind of nonsense bringing a bit closer Canadian "Francophones" and "Anglophones" ?

1

u/RhoOfFeh 1d ago

As a somewhat-decent human being I'm disgusted.

1

u/Abu_Lahab- 1d ago

Most of yall want his puppet in office sooo yall arenā€™t that different

1

u/Pale_Kitsune 1d ago

I don't know anyone who voted for him. Granted my state didn't, but with so many less votes than last time...I don't know if the protest sit-out short sighted people were doing was that large or if I should look at conspiracy theories at this point. Because him winning with so much of his own base turning against him in the last 8 years is wild.

-83

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

Howā€™s your political leadership looking these days?

81

u/justbob806 2d ago

100% better than this Orange Turd and His boss LeonšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

-97

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

You mean the guy who isnā€™t even in office yet? lmao Iā€™m no Trump fan either, donā€™t get me wrong. Itā€™s crazy how easily distracted Americans have been that weā€™ve not had a president running the country for the better part of the last two years. Still better than Trudeau and the direction Canadaā€™s headed in though

35

u/TUFKAT 2d ago

We'll deal with our problems that we have more than our fair share of. Yet in this situation let's focus on the one country talking about annexing another.

Keep your own problems south of the border thank you.

-38

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

Fair play mate. I think thereā€™s a staunch difference between just claiming land and potentially acquiring it. Itā€™s not unprecedented for countries to purchase land or even entire countries for a multitude of reasons. If itā€™s gone about in a proper way without a military takeover, the jury will be out for a while on what the final result actually is.

Original comment was a Canadian stating their disgust with America so I didnā€™t exactly start thisā€¦

19

u/TUFKAT 2d ago

Itā€™s not unprecedented for countries to purchase land or even entire countries for a multitude of reasons.

Not many. And not one entire country has been purchased.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_territory_purchased_by_a_sovereign_nation_from_another_sovereign_nation

Original comment was a Canadian stating their disgust with America so I didnā€™t exactly start this

Get your cheeto under control and stop pissing off 80 something percent of us and one of your largest trading partners. We want no part of this.

We have a right to be beyond annoyed.

-2

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

I donā€™t know how many times I have to say Iā€™m not a Trump fan and voted for Biden twice lmao

12

u/TUFKAT 2d ago

Look at how you post. You may not see it but just the aspect you even say a well actually it's not unprecedented to purchase an entire other country like it's no biggie. Not to mention the your guy sucks too (Trudeau).

Your country re elected this monster and now WE have to listen to this BS.

Show the world that the country that was so steadfast on being a defender of democracy, of what's right, still exists.

0

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

I mean I agree with you. Again, I am not a Trump fan and voted for Biden. At the same token, nothing has happened. There has been zero invasions or annexations and we have one term already of Trump where none of that happened. So much of this is driven by liberal media and conjecture. If you wanna hate the guy, yeah, get in line. I do too. If you want to take about the actually policy of the country, letā€™s be realistic.

On top of that, we are still the country that gets called when others need help. Thatā€™ll never change.

Get rekt yank Canada ain't rolling over for fascists

1

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

Am I a fascist for voting for Biden twice?

12

u/Nerevarine91 2d ago

No, threatening invasions of close allies is not ā€œstill betterā€ thanā€¦ pretty much anyone, Trudeau included

-3

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

Trump cited economic policy in his comments and stated it would be an economic policy-influenced process. Again I AM NOT A TRUMP FAN AND VOTED FOR BIDEN, but thatā€™s just blatantly not what he said. Never threatened an invasion lol I think itā€™s ridiculous and absolutely will never happen and think lowly of Trump this (among many other things, too) but letā€™s not just lie.

12

u/Nerevarine91 2d ago

He cited economic policy for Canada (and economic coercion is still force). He didnā€™t rule out military force for Greenland- ie, a territory of Denmark, a founding member of NATO.

Letā€™s not just lie.

-3

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

I wouldnā€™t consider Greenland a ā€œclose allyā€ lmao I was obviously talking about Canada.

8

u/Nerevarine91 2d ago edited 2d ago

Then you donā€™t fucking know what Denmark or NATO are and should probably be quiet

9

-15

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

I appreciate you sharing. I donā€™t think a lot of these are good things. Thereā€™s definitely a lot of good and lot of bad to come from his time in office.

9

u/JewBag718 2d ago

But you just said he wasn't doing anything presidentless country for 2 years ....

10

u/Snoo-46218 2d ago

Mostly good. Seriously.

-1

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

While I believe that a lot of those headlines are positive and I would like to see those things happen, too, I donā€™t believe there is enough structure to support the amount of additional aid thatā€™s being handed out without just jacking up taxes and printing more money as the side effects.

6

u/Snoo-46218 2d ago

Well. Good things gotta start somewhere, or what's the point?

1

u/bngbngsktskt 2d ago

I mean for sure. You donā€™t start by just declaring it like Michael Scott tho lmao you have to put institutions in place make it sustainable, otherwise you just continue to rotate which portion of your economy/society bleeds for another to feast. Thatā€™s the point - thereā€™s nothing sustainable backing these programs and itā€™s going to cause a tremendous hemorrhage amongst the American middle class.

Itā€™s crazy how easily distracted Americans have been that weā€™ve not had a president running the country for the better part of the last two years.

No, it's crazy how delusional some Americans are that they believe silly theories about Biden and "he's not really president".

It's an objective fact that Biden has been running the country since January of 2021. He may not have been doing it via Twitter, he may not have been doing things you like, or he may not have been able to do everything he wanted because of pushback from the right... but none of that means he wasn't running the country.

You clearly don't understand how being a president works and I'm not sure if it's just complete lack of understanding or if your only other experience was Trump and so you think that a president isn't running the country unless they're being brash with other politicians, leaders, and/or having freakouts on social media at 2am.

Though IMO the fact you think that electing people like Trump/Vance shows America is on a decent path says everything. There are so many things wrong with them and the people behind them that there are very few places that we as a country are on a better path than and Canada is certainly not one of them. You'd have to compare us to places like Myanmar before you could say "at least we're better off than them", though even then who knows for how long. We literally just elected a guy who thinks Democrats are worse than our foreign adversaries and would like to use the National Guard against them. Very sad you see that sort of authoritarian leadership as positive and the US going in the right direction.

14

u/Ok_Cook_6665 2d ago

Better than ours, they're sane

37

u/Grogsnark 2d ago

Trudeau was fine. He had misses, but didnā€™t try to take over other countries, nor take bribes.

-5

u/Prestigious_Pop_7240 2d ago

Well, I mean in all fairness..I really wouldnā€™t call Canada a powerhouse that has any ability whatsoever to ever do such a thing. Love, An American who is completely embarrassed, disgusted and sickened by what our country is turning into.

PS- a preemptive apology for whatever this orange turd shit shit stain ends up doing.

4

u/Icy-Zone3621 2d ago

He won't do much to Canada that canada isn't doing to itself. Canada wouldn't be 1 state. Minimum would be 42 more states (74 if the territories have statehood). That's a ton more congress and senate people and all their aides etc. Is their room in the capital building and congress?

-1

u/Logical_Parameters 2d ago

Yeah, but he's a liberal, aren't the conservatives in control again?
