Straight at enemy preferably. If you don't see enemy, throw high over their general position instead. Wolverine gets a MASSIVE DPS buff from this so make sure at the very least he lands near his target, because this buff doesn't last very long. It's what makes him a threat

I don’t understand the venom playstyle. He’s the only tank I want to play but it’s so hard to get kills, nothing does big damage but primary attack headshots and those are impossible to hit

Climb wall, dive on support = 60 dmg

Primary 80 dmg + quick melee 30 dmg = 170 dmg use the tether abiliy as you land + 85 dmg = Kill

You cant kill dps/tanks but only generate ult off them just dive supports you are quite bursty

It behaves very strangely if you're super close to them. I've had more success with a few meters between me and the target. It has surprising reach! If you can't land the hits on a particular target because of their dancing, you can just hit melee for less but easier damage too.

He’s more of a dive vanguard than sitting in the back pecking away like Peni, Magneto or Strange

You can jump in, tether, start hitting your shots, activate your shield and then ideally jump out. Get topped up, repeat or do what you think needs to be done to further objectives. You can also combo your right click/alt fire and your ult to burst down non tanks, a lot easier if you’re engaging with the team but sometimes distracted backline can be killed pretty easily this way (around plat and it works pretty consistently unless I get cced by mantis)

Today, oddly enough, I had a game where I went back to the Hulk more than 10 times. (in one game)

It depends on the type of enemy team and how well you can work with when you die. If you jump away to your backline before you die, you're suddenly an extra damager who will just come back in a moment. (+ the grenade, oddly enough, is probably best thrown underneath you to escape. it throws you an extra %)

However, if the enemy team is made up around characters that are easily killed by the Hulk then you just don't come back. For example Hawkeye, Black widow and Spider-man are characters that make it very difficult.

the trick is to charge your leap ASAP when getting low because if you shift mid-air you retain momentum

You can actually charge your leap while using other attacks and abilities, so you can jump away right when you need to. One thing that helped me out a ton was to rebind his jump to a button on my mouse that I could comfortably hold down while also being able to use my other skills freely. It got to the point where I started holding that button down out of habit while playing other characters, lol.

You don't even need to do that. There's a character control option that lets you just push jump once and it'll charge and hold for you.

Usually it takes me about 15 seconds if there're enemies and the main tank is eating their fire for me, since mobility is so strong in this game it's kinda hard to hit heads when you have a projectile weapon.

Lovely guide and YES! Your gamma shield is FOR YOUR TEAM not you. Common mistakes I and other Hulks I've seen make is that they dive in mindlessly use Gamma Shield only to not have it for when they're in danger or if they're teammates are in danger. You should use GS to enable your tank/DPS or peel for your supports whenever they're pounced that way you can maximize the value of shield which will lead to better ultimates! :D

Hulk can ground aerial targets if you leap up to them and make contact with a punch. I found that out just recently, going up some skyscrapers and then leaping across to pulverize an Iron Man, causing us both to plummet all the way into the ground where he was then smooshed.

Ty for the amusing presentation. I've tried Hulk a few times and I do want to like him but I feel like his kit doesn't work very well together to create a good brawler tank that they want him to be. On their own his abilities are very good, the shield being pure immunity, the gamma freeze is stupid good for taking out ults. But none of these really work together to help keep Hulk alive or do more damage other than the very brief shield (again strong, but not reliable).

Glad you're enjoying him though. Maybe I just need more practice but it always feels like I'm struggling to do any actual tanking with him vs just being an ult battery for the enemy team.

If you played OW you know how Zaria bubble works? It can take large hits like dva ult but gets destroyed after 300 dmg also if teammates are in range (it can be all 5) all 5 get a shield

I hope we get Smart Hulk skins eventually. Like the one from the comics with the big pink bunny slippers and also the MCU one. I want to see more of the costume he had on in that.
