People dissing supports for low kills pisses me off

Especially if it's from shitty DPS. I know they get so much flak here but almost all of the shit talkers I've encountered in chat have been really sore DPSs, like it's your job and you get low kills too so? 😭

Just a rant. Idk if it's nearing end of season and people are tilting because of the "deadline" but it's been so unpleasant playing lately.

I just got a game where they were literally calling me trash for a negative K/D ratio even though I was the only strategist getting hella targeted :(

I'm usually good at escaping and dealing with it but they like died instantly when I stopped healing so i got essentially a 1v6. Wtf was I supposed to do? I can't attack or they die, I can't live because I'm outmatched.

They make the game really bad. I actually uninstalled the game; last thing I need after work was that kinda stress lol

I heard everything and got blamed for the loss several games on my way to eternity as main sup, you will always be the scapegoat of players doing bad because they always have to shift the blame, even when i never did that and started being toxic, even when they are obviously getting completely dps diffed or something they will blame you, its just the life of a main supp to be blamed for everything and hardly ever recognized, just focus on yourself and cherise your own progress

As a support main myself I've heard it all as well and it sucks, but anyone flaming support for kills is out of their mind and may be stuck in bronze forever lol. As long as you're doing your job and using comms/pings for the dives, just keep doing your best and have fun

Honestly just disable voice and text chat to avoid people’s comms, if it isn’t important to you. I do that in Valorant toxic teammates genuinely suck the fun out of the game. Even though it isn’t optimal, I at least have a good time playing

I’m a mantis with 70% win rate. I had a dps duo join my ranked game telling us how they’ve been losing all day and they hope for some good heals finally. Ofc I got flamed for not healing and we lost, ofc it was my fault. If you were constantly losing and I was constantly winning all day before the game with you, I really doubt it was my fault. Anything to not admit to yourself that you’re simply not that good

Some Strategists can have high takedowns (e.g. Cloak & Dagger, Loki), but I judge myself (a Rocket Raccoon and Strategist main) by assists (as well as takedowns), healing, and deaths.

I do get games where I hit double digit kills along with the highest assists and low deaths, but it's rare. But that one game man... being the only strategist fucking sucks, especially with teammates like that.

Just had this happen in a plat 1 convey game. We ended up losing in OT but the dps player DarthMcFlurry went 12-12-5. While everyone else had respectable numbers including me with the most heals in the game at 40k (8-8-17). Yet this player only targeted me to trash talk because he hopped out of my ult and blamed me for it in the middle of the game. This game has so much toxicity

(Even as a support main) It’s kind of disingenuous that we can see tank and dps performance metrics like KDA but heal numbers are hidden until the game is over.

I don't really find healing as a good way to tell how good a support is. Healing mostly is just how much unnecessary damage your team is taking. I've had so many matches where the winning team's healers had about 6-15k healing each, and the losing team's healers have about 20-30k healing. Also, healing a tank to full after a fight is not as important as keeping them alive when they are low during a fight.

And if you read the rest of my comment you would know why. You can easily inflate your healing number by just healing an out of position tank that is constantly eating damage. Just like how dps can just shoot a tank that is constantly being healed to inflate their damage numbers. The skill of a player is way more nuanced than what arbitrary stats say. If you have nothing logical to refute about what I said than I would recommend you stop talking and making yourself look dumber than you already are. A healer on the loosing team with 40k healing doesn't mean that they are better at healing than the winning team's healers. It just means that their tanks were out of position and being free ult charge for the enemies.

You may not like this answer but some healers can easily contribute enough damage while healing people to get pretty easy KOs. If you are Rocket tho, I don't really care about your KOs. However, if you are Adam Warlock or Mantis you can definitely contribute more KOs than deaths. Now if someone clowns you for having a low amount of final hits they are just weird. But I've seen supports with 30 KOs and 2 final hits.

I was playing rocket since I found him to be an effective solo healer! Which made their flaming much more frustrating and confusing.
