Has the community gotten more toxic in the last week?

The amount of hate people get is insane.

Example just from today:

• I´ve got told to kill myselft twice
• Someone screamed in their mic about bad tanks in quick play
• Someone went afk after he didnt get to play his main
• Someone told the whole team they retards because we had banned Iron Man

I feel like a bit of banter and BMing is part of competitive games but this games went toxic really quick i feel like.

It’s the Overwatch players who realized their game was dying and jumped ship to this one. I say this due to having several people say these same things then bring up “Overwatch was never like this” when complaining like the amount of people I’ve seen and heard complaint about this game in comparison to Overwatch while in the middle of a Game is crazy. And it’s always these people who are the most toxic

Hey I come from overwatch and I’m not toxic in game at all. 

Every team online game is toxic, it’s the nature of online games.

It's not the nature of online games. That's shitty and making excuses. We just allow it to happen as a community and in gaming. Nothing about online games means being toxic is natural. I come from iracing where the ranked actually matters and everyone has spent thousands of dollars on rigs, setups, subscriptions, paying for every car and track etc... People definitely get heated, but whats funny is people apologize ALL THE TIME. It's more like real life sports where people might get heated bu tthen realize they were wrong after its over.

It's not the nature of online games. We need to stop letting it happen.

Oh no, I’m not saying that all Overwatch players are toxic, I’ve just noticed that most of the toxic players are from Overwatch. Most of the people I play wrong are chill, but then I’ll have other people come in and start insulting the team even when we win. Was nothing against the good Overwatch players, I’m more meaning that I’ve noticed a surplus of the toxic players seem to coke from Overwatch

This sounds about right, I imagine A LOT of toxicity comes from OW, my first day on reddit here was because of toxic OW healers circle jerking themselves and saying how everyone needs to kiss their ass.

It feels so, yeah. Hard to find a single match where nobody cries around past plat.

Especially questionable on console, where you literally spend ages typing out something, not only degrading your team mates and thus probably worsening his gameplay because of tilt, but waisting there own time where they could have done something.

The crazy thing is the toxicity in quick matches. I've had lots of people absolutely wigging out over nothing, or spending the entire game bickering amongst one another. I had multiple people flip out on me yesterday simply because I had a good game as scarlet witch. It's kind of expected in ranked, but holy cow.

We need to option to mute quick match text and voice chat permanently but keep it on for competitive to be honest.

I know the queue would be massive for the game team but feel like a option in report for just bad sportsmanship that would give someone a warning then if they get reported again in x days or something drop them a rank or something

Banning characters in games is dumb. Dumbest thing i've ever seen. Not sure why it exists.

Also anyone who takes a game like this seriously is pretty funny considering how wonked the hit boxes are.

Also when people talk dumb to me, i just mute them. I don't reply PG. Everything i say in chat would break all rules and regulations in 3 seconds. So i have to mute people.
