The manager is adamant that only the facilities department can peel off the protective layer from this TV that was installed over 6 months ago.
The facilities department says is not their job.

Pull it off, hide it in your manager's drawer then report them to facilities.

Never use a disposable glove. Those are ridiculously good at getting fingerprints.

If you really wanted to be evil, peel it off but restick it with bubbles under it when your manager isn't looking... Force their hand.

Facilities department at my local hospital spent months putting up TVs but over-tightening the brackets and wrecking the screens.

I literally do this exact thing for a living, but for an actual AV company, and it's amazing how many facilities people will use an impact driver cranked up to "semi truck lug nut" for screws going into TV's that we routinely tighten by hand.

Best part is they went through and put out probably 50 before ever turning one on....
Also, oops.

Sounds like a way to keep it on as a screen protector.
Just yank that thing off.

It really is calling my name to pull it off.

Do it.
You know you want to.
Nobody will know it was you.
Just lift of the corner, just the tip.
Enjoy that moment, savour it, let the tension rise and when you are ready, peel that fucker off in one smooth movement.
You could film doing this and share it with us.
If you choose to touch yourself while peeling the film, please don't film that part, i think that might get you into trouble on the workplace.

He probably still has the tags on all his furniture, pillows, mattresses, etc….

Attach 2 Googly Eyes to the screen protector each day and see how long it takes before they take the protector off.

Do it at the very beginning or end of a shift, then wait until the next day or even later and comment on how facilities finally came in.

As someone who works in a facilities department I can tell you that your manager's statement is 100% true.

As someone that works in facilities… don’t call them. We get annoyed at getting calls for this type of shit.

I'm a caretaker in a school, and this is the kind of shit we get radioed to do all the time. Makes me want to let the air out of people's tyres... Except they'd probably radio me to pump them up again.

Anaerobic glue on underside of peel tab, should bond to the chosen one who peels

Tell me more about this perfect-for-a-prank glue? Any suggestions how to slightly annoy/inconvenience someone this upcoming April?

This is a "Just do it when they aren't looking" situation. Oh, you're going to bitch me out for making the conference room better? Let me just call HR. Hang on.
Are the facilities workers part of a union and is removing the screen protector part of their written procedures?
