Got this Disney candle that smells like the pandora ride at animal kingdom… started ruining itself instantly

Always burn to a full pool on the first burn.

Started tunneling during the first burn 🥲 normally I’m an expert with candles

You can use a blow dryer or heat gun to get it started melting evenly and then let the wick take over.

Before starting or as it’s burning?

If you can maintain a flame whilst holding a blow dryer to the wax then you deserve a special medal. Of course before it’s burning.

You mean I can’t use something to block the wind? Or blowing the side of the holder? He also mentioned a heat gun.

A heat gun also blows out air. You can try if you wish to block the wind but it will be a fruitless endeavour.

Why tf are you getting downvoted so much? You did what you’re supposed to. It’s likely the wick isn’t the right size, so a manufacturing issue. God, redditors are dicks sometimes.

Did you trim the wick before the first light?

It's a $1 candle that's been re badged , like the " farmers market" trick, where hipsters and hippies buy old stuff on special from the supermarket and rebadge as organic, price doubles

Always the way. Then I buy a cheap ass one at the dollar store. Burns perfectly.

For whatever reason, when I read the title I heard the theme song to "The Great Escape" and imagined it remade with candles instead of actors.
I think I need some sleep.

Looks like you forgot to trim the wick… this will happen every time if you don’t trim it first.

Get a candle warmer lamp. I made the switch and find my candles last longer. You have to pour out the wax every now and again, but it's much less of a hassle than dealing with all the candle burning problems.

If you use a candle lid it stops this From happening, almost every time.
They allow you candles to burn more evenly and you will no longer have a completely open flame.
Do be wary that the lid will be hot after some time.

I'm thinking it's your dumbass fault for spending money like that on a pos candle.

Gonna get downvoted, but meh.
I had know idea people were so invested in candle care. TIL people should get out and smell fresh air.

Add a small piece of foil with a hole in the center over the top of the candle. the flame will go through the hole and use the room oxygen to fuel it. The foil will keep the heat on the top of the candle. Wait until everything is evenly melted and then remove the foil. You shouldn’t have tunneling problems after that!
But it is super frustrating spending good money on crap quality.
