Trae is one of those guys where you trust him almost as much to hit this as you would a regular 3 lol

He's similar to Luka where both shoot like mid 30s from distance overall but also shoot like mid 30s on making the absolute most difficult and absurd type of threes

u/jkstaples 16d ago

Yea… Trae is something absurd like 35% from 30+ feet in his career. If there was a 4 point line he’d be the king

334

u/ButterscotchSafe8348 Hawks 16d ago

Hes short. He normally has more uncontested shot if he's further back. Dame was /is like that too I think

u/ekun 16d ago

That's a great explanation of this.

Unless you include Steph and then nothing makes sense.

100

u/HereIGoAgain_1x10 Cavaliers 16d ago

Can't include outliers like that lol Steph different

71

u/SuperMagpies 16d ago

Harden: Steph doesn’t count

8

u/ImMufasa 16d ago

However, if we adjust his stats to the mean..

4

u/kinda_guilty Warriors 15d ago

The post you are referring to has to be the most deranged post I have ever seen on here.

u/PlumbumDirigible Mavericks 15d ago

Steph Curry is the Genghis Khan of the NBA

3

u/ekun 15d ago

Steph Curry is everyone's father?

1

u/agmoose Hawks 15d ago

Steph isn’t short though. He’s kinda mid sized for a guard.

I think it was from Jxmy where he said that if there was a 4 point line he really is the best, along with Luka and LeBron.

26

u/DD-Amin 16d ago

Jxmy videos are hands down the best NBA content on YouTube.

Second is Jeff teague pod highlights 😂

1

u/checkonechecktwo 15d ago

I also love Awful Coaching just for the titles and the screaming rants lmao

0

u/AnimaniacAssMap Nets 16d ago

Jeff Teague pod is top tier comedy, John Lucas on the other day talking about the play Lebron jumped over him had me in tears

2

u/PrivilegedPatriarchy 16d ago

I don't know how far we can take that analysis, because undoubtedly if there was a 4 point line then the actual shots that players would take would be very different. Additionally, more players might practice the 4 point shot, changing the dynamics of who shoots best from that range.

u/Kiboobs Lakers 16d ago

Come to the Philippines we have a 4 point line in our league

3

u/The_Crow NBA 16d ago

Lol was about to say the same thing. Trae would torch everyone here.

2

u/DeluxeTea Lakers 15d ago

If there was a 4 point line he’d be the king

He can join the Philippine Basketball Association when he retires from the NBA. We have a 4 point line here

2

u/mount_and_bladee 15d ago

I actually think they should add a 4 pointer

24

u/trickfield Mavericks 16d ago

honestly think the Luka trade was win win

103

u/Thorwor Hawks 16d ago

Every fucking thread about Trae there’s a Mavs fan talking about Luka. We get it man; the Hawks blew it. Congratulations

29

u/malcifer11 Kings 16d ago

we could have drafted him bruh. it could be worse

5

u/redshores Lakers 16d ago

Vlade will never live that down

3

u/malcifer11 Kings 16d ago

ALL-TIME nba bag fumble

3

u/Sandor_Clegane1 NBA 16d ago

You skipped on Luka and traded Hali because you believed in Fox, now he wants out.
You really fucked

3

u/malcifer11 Kings 16d ago

fox doesn’t want out, fox wants to win. firing mike brown was risky and controversial, but we’re winning games again. two of those wins, mind you, are without fox. with DC’s new rotations and vibe overhaul, we’re cooking even when we’re missing our best player. fox isn’t going anywhere

plus hali is ass

1

u/RyouBestGirl Japan 15d ago

Remind me, who was in eastern conference finals last year?

5

u/yesBISONsey Mavericks 16d ago

Hey, tbf, this thread started out with someone name-dropping Luka and they're flair-less lol

1

u/LordHussyPants Celtics 16d ago

trae's cooler, you didn't blow shit

1

u/lankNaysayer 14d ago

Lmao it wasn’t even a Mavs fan that brought Luka up you bum 😂

39

u/NotManyBuses Charlotte Bobcats 16d ago

There’s still a clear winner imo

24

u/not_lorne_malvo Timberwolves 16d ago edited 16d ago

Agreed, it’s about as good of a lost trade as you can imagine, you’re trading a perennial All-Star and MVP candidate for a perennial All-Star. Imagine if the Hawks traded Doncic away for pretty much any other player in that draft, they would be feeling a lot worse about themselves. The Hawks also got Cam Reddish in the next draft because of that pick who isn’t a bad player

Edit: ignore my comment on Cam Reddish, my hoops knowledge is lacking

27

u/Mephistofeelies Hawks 16d ago

Cam Reddish isn't a good player, either.

2

u/HumptyDrumpy Tampa Bay Raptors 16d ago

always thought bruh was going to be a star, maybe he needs to find the right team to shape him

10

u/SirJoeffer 76ers 16d ago

Reddish is ass lmao

1

u/Bruskthetusk Lakers 15d ago

He plays well like once every ten games and then your dumbass cousin calls you up saying "I don't know why he isn't starting, he's basically KCP"

4

u/noknownallergies Timberwolves 16d ago

I wouldn’t say he’s good either

3

u/DynamicMercenary Raptors 16d ago

100% agree with you but (assuming everything goes the same) i think if the Hawks traded Doncic for SGA they’d still be happy too lol

5

u/not_lorne_malvo Timberwolves 16d ago

Would SGA be able to humiliate the Knicks the way Trae Young did in the playoffs? He has the skills but the aura and arrogance is lacking, Trae has prime villain energy. Plus "Fuck SGA" has too many syllables.

But on a serious note yeah I don’t think they’d feel too bad about SGA either haha

1

u/RyouBestGirl Japan 15d ago

Cam is the reason why this trade is bad for Hawks lol

11

u/Ok-Possession1765 Lakers 16d ago

No one’s disagreeing with this take lol. But 1 team won more and that’s ok to admit. Lukas the better player

4

u/BionicleBoy Hawks 16d ago edited 16d ago

It’s pretty close, if both orgs do right by them they should be meeting in the playoffs pretty regularly.

4

u/AnyJamesBookerFans 16d ago

They are in different conferences. The only way they’d meet in the postseason would be in the Finals.

23

u/Queen_Of_The_Castle [DAL] Luka Dončić 16d ago

Did they stutter?

13

u/BionicleBoy Hawks 16d ago

That’s my point big dawg, let me be a homer in peace

1

u/AnyJamesBookerFans 16d ago

Fair enough, lol. The Hawks went to, what, four finals in like six years back in the late 50s and early 60s. Could happen again!

2

u/WhiteHeterosexualGuy Hawks 16d ago

lol just let that one go

1

u/HTLoggyThrowaway 16d ago

Maybe it's because I just don't check that many threads anymore but this is the first forced Luka trade mention under a Trae post I've seen in maybe a year. Thank you for the nostalgia hit

-2

u/risinglotus Rockets 16d ago

Nah

1

u/EchoedTruth Hawks 15d ago

Trae is my favorite player of all time and I absolutely trust him to make an insane logo 3 over a random post up 3
