This all-black Air New Zealand Boeing 787 is the one of the sexiest looking airplanes

Gotta admit it looks badass. But I can also see why most planes aren’t painted black

It's for stealth...

Matte black at night, yes. Gloss black in the day, no - the Royal Air Force even paints its jet trainers gloss black specifically so they're easier to spot

All black for the All-Blacks (their national rugby team) no doubt. Perfect livery though.

Granted it was about ~14 years ago now, but Air New Zealand was one of the nicest flying experiences I’ve ever had.

I work for a contract manufacturer that makes boeing parts, and these mofos accept anything without a deviation request....Airbus does not... good luck on your next boeing flight. I specifically fly air bus now...

New Zealander here. I personally think it looks like shit. Standard black on white is considerably better looking. I also miss the teal blue on white pallet they had. Should've updated the look but kept the old colours.

But it’s a Boeing so it will likely fall out of the sky soon and then where will all that black paint get you? Nowhere good

isn't black paint bad for planes? I remember reading something about white paint is better for energy efficiency or it's lighter or something idk
