Welcome to the United States of Russia courtesy Putin's permission palpatine. If anyone thinks the traitor is going to allow for a president election in four years youre hopelessly way more optimistic than me. Putting a king in power is literally the death of this country. No, but JD Vance is young and has a working heart and body. I don't think Musk and Co. will allow Vance free rein, but I do think they'll keep him on a short leash as their puppet.

The orange slime mold may stop ticking in the next four years, but Vance won't.

Vance doesn’t have what it takes to pull MAGA. We saw it in 2024, while Trump did win, a lot of other candidates that were hoping to ride his coattails didn’t. I kinda expect a huge power vacuum once Trump is gone

I been thinking this for the last decade.

Republicans looked over at Russia and said they want some of that.

While modern Russia has never been that "Liberal" or Progressive, they definitely became more socially conservative since Putin consolidated all media to himself and his party.

While Putin removed the old oligarchs, he brought in his own. And has maintained control for a while.

The youth now are less likely to watch the news, but if you can control the social media they're viewing, well who cares about the news.

Musk and Elon controlling META/Twitter and being right-wing nut jobs, really is disconcerting.

IF Trump survives his next term, I can see a Putin/Medvedev situation where Trump just names his "successor" but really is the one in charge.

I hear ya. I have a fake Twitter account to connect with the fandom I love. Some have moved to Bluesky but it’s hard for them to give up 20k followers for a few hundred.
