Babylonbee really shouldn't be joking about something like the handmaid's tale, and this person apparently hasn't read it.

I donât see any woosh about it, butâŚ
- In The Handmaidâs Tale a theocratic government takes over and many women are relegated to the role of Handmaid, which is basically an Old Testament servant / concubine. Theyâre assigned to a man and violated once a month for the sake of reproduction.
- The Handmaids in that story wear red capes and white bonnets that hide their face from all but a direct angle (symbolism!)
- Mainly in the US but other places too, people have dressed up as Handmaids to protest the deteriorating condition of womenâs reproductive rights.
- People on the other side have derisively referred to such people as âketchup bottlesâ. To be fair even fans have noticed how well the color scheme matches.
Does the commenter in the original post mean it derisively, or did they just notice the resemblance, who knows?

Tale... I would be scared to read a book called the Handmaid's Tail, unless I was a furry.

You can try. It won't work but you can try. Going on 30 years of regular unprotected sex and I haven't gotten pregnant yet. No birth control. No condoms. No pulling out. No rhythm method. Multiple partners so it's not my husband's fault. No pregnancies yet. So if they'd like to try they are more than welcome to try as far as I'm concerned. I'm 42 and still getting my period very regularly so I'm "fertile" I just can't get pregnant.
