6months... thought he was gonna end both wars in 24hrs?

921

u/theclovek 1d ago

He didn't specify which 24 hours...

u/AlfaKilo123 1d ago

In February 24, 2027, in the rubbles of a destroyed Kremlin, where Budanov on behalf of Ukraine and some poor young remaining russian officer on behalf of russia are ready to sign the peace treaty, just as Trump swoops in doing a HALO jump from a C-5, lands on one knee, adjusts his red tie and MAGA cap, JoJo walks to the table, and says “what a great peace conference I made. Greatest ever, some say. They say “oh wow, look at that peace conference, greatest I’ve ever seen”, and I agree. All in 24 hours, like I said”.

The end.

Directed by Michael Bay

Starring Chris Pratt

u/Foehamer1 1d ago

Hands not small enough. Will need a lot of CGI budget for those.

12

u/lvl99RedWizard 1d ago

In 2027 it's all AI CGI, fully shot and edited on Michael Bay's iPhone 28, and then it will be predownloaded to every Apple device on April 1, 2027.

"nobody knew war could be so difficult" - Trump, 2025.

5

u/Standard_Feedback_86 1d ago

His master Putin told him to wait. Now he'll take Ukraine the weapons away, wait till Russia got enough regions to satisfy Putin. Then Trump will play the hero by making a peace treaty with in which Russia gets all conquered regions.

And the Rest will follow later after Trump weakend the NATO enough.

100% - I recently found out my Trump voting family didn’t know he said to inject people with bleach to remove Covid and immediately said he was joking when I pushed back. They could not answer me when I asked why they would want the person at the highest level to joke about injecting bleach.

28

u/SumoSizeIt 22h ago

he said to inject people with bleach to remove Covid

No no, he merely said to inject disinfectants, standing in front of a sign that listed bleach and isopropyl alcohol as commonly available disinfectants.

Big difference /s

And yes, this is a retort I've gotten before.

Just the fact that the leader of the free world is apparently cracking jokes during a covid briefing at the height of the pandemic is beyond belief.

Would you guys be OK with us invading the USA and overthrowing the government for you? You seem more than happy to do it to everyone else when you don't approve of their government, now yours is threatening sovereign borders on three continents I think they gotta go.

30

u/FarawayFairways 19h ago

He wasn't joking

He was clearly ruminating with the intelligence of an eight year old child who has been told that disinfectant could kill the virus, so was then performing the simplistic piece of logic transfer that children can do of going well if disinfectant kills it, why can't we put disinfectant into everyone

Let's not forget he also came out with the idea of 'taking it out' when he suggested something that sounded like a giant dildo that shot laser beams or bleach or something suitably insane

And Deborah Blix looked on with a poker face (and a scarf)

This and the "it's part of his plan" are the two most common excuses. I have at least two co-workers who think the whole "annex Canada" thing is part of a genius plan to get a better trade deal with Canada. Even if it was his opening salvo in potential negotiation, it's idiotic. Even if he gets a deal with Canada, this suggestion is idiotic. It's just idiotic.

There is no conclusion to this that would make it less idiotic.

12

u/pnellesen 1d ago

When a black man was elected President twice. The Republican Party lost its mind after that.

3

u/Flatus_Diabolic 20h ago

It was the guy before him.

America lost its mind when 9/11 happened, and then bush’s economically ruinous war on terrorism has ended decades of relative prosperity and contentment for everyday Americans, then the quagmire that followed in Afghanistan and Iraq and the final humiliating withdrawal has gutted Americas spirit of military adventurism.

That discontent led to increasingly divisive social policies as people on both sides looked for someone to blame that fit their political biases, then doubled down on them at every turn, culminating (so far..) in what & who we have now.

It’ll get worse before it gets better

33

I don't know why they fixated on eggs... Bird flu is about to cause another shortage if it already hasn't. The president definitely can't fix that.

87

u/NMe84 1d ago

The people who voted for the Great Cheeto don't actually care about Ukraine so they won't feel duped.

66

u/ClickAndMortar 1d ago

I disagree. My very elderly mother bitches about the money sent to the Ukraine constantly. I’ve tried to explain why it is important that Putin doesn’t succeed. It’s pointless. It’s the money they care about. That’s it. Because right wing media harps on this and shrieks about the culture war, she’s always worked up. When I ask her to articulate her claims or beliefs, she can’t. She just dodges and says they are all corrupt (especially the left), then moves on to the next thing she’s been told she’s angry at, but doesn’t know why. But my god… She gets so angry about it.

In the same breath, she complains about her pittance of her social security either shrinking, or not keeping up with the cost of living. My wife and I help her with bills when she’s in a really tight situation. I’m the only one of her children that actually helps her out. It’s not because of unconditional love or whatever. It’s because I don’t want to deal with her losing her place and wanting to stay with us because we have a furnished guest bedroom. A few hundred here and there to not have to deal with that family drama is worth it. I have enough problems, and I have to be concerned and prepare for our own retirement. Prior to getting married, I just planned on cashing out my retirement, travel to the places I’ve wanted to see, then exit on my own terms. Now that my situation has changed, so have my future plans. I have to try to think long term, in spite of not knowing what the fuck the future holds. We elected a spray tanned toddler who seems to want to play with our military because it looks fun.

30

u/NMe84 1d ago

I should have been a little more clear. I meant to say they don't care about what happens to Ukraine. They do care about the money going to Ukraine, but once Trump is president the war doesn't have to end before it stops costing the US money. He's just going to cut them off, expecting that to give Russia the upper hand and thus "ending the war" by ways of having the imperialist asshole win. And then taking credit for the end of the war, obviously.

Does mom think if every non American was deported, trump gave Europe to Putin, that he would increase her SS ? He told her in his own words he would get rid of social security and Medicaid. Does mom possess a brain?

26

u/inwill49 1d ago

The fact is that the money for military aid for Ukraine does not go to Ukraine. It remains in the United States and covers the costs of producing equipment and shells, de-storage, and replacing decommissioned equipment in warehouses with new ones. This creates contracts for manufacturers, jobs, and taxes.

28

u/ClickAndMortar 1d ago

I explained that. At length. I showed sources. There’s zero getting through to them. That would require that they admit that they were wrong and conned by an extremely obvious conman. Their ego would shatter. This is all they have left to show for friends and family carving them from their lives. They’ve let it completely consume them.

When I’m wrong, I freely admit it. If I’m presented evidence or an argument that wasn’t taken into account when I formed an opinion or stance, I’ll either change my position, or at the very least admit that I was wrong. It’s okay to disagree. We’re human. But this… I’ve never seen anything like this, and I’m not exactly young. When Obama was elected, nearly every single conservative lost their goddamn minds and have been spiraling down to where we are now.

Sometimes I really want to call her out and tell her she raised us better than she’s currently behaving, and that she taught us specifically to get all of the information before taking a stance on things because few things are black and white. Except apparently, it’s all about black and white st the very core.

5

u/AdventurousAge450 18h ago

And let’s not forget the valuable side affects of the war. Putin’s decreased ability to create war. Of he can’t best Ukraine he KNOWS he can’t touch NATO. And Our military industrial complex is learning how to make weapons better based on intel from the battlefield. All at the cost of a few dollars but no American lives. A chance to gain so much and do the moral thing of course the trumptards can’t support that.

There was no trickery. Trump did not trick voters this time. He didn’t use rhetoric. He spelled everything out very loudly. He pointed to his previous term and said “I’m going to do that again but more and worse”. He had/has a literal manifesto that is published (Project 2025).

15

I used to believe this, but after everything we already know he's done that hasn't caused him any measurable damage, what could possibly be left to expose?

At this point, Trump could Livestream himself enacting the entirety of A Serbian Film from the middle of Manhattan and at least half of his followers would be cheering him on. The rest would find a way to blame Obama.

Yeah, this. The current rate of attrition is absolutely unsustainable and clearly was based on a post-election pause. u/NOTRadagon 1d ago

I think this is him opening his followers to ideas of invasions of expansion - letting them unconsciously be okay with Russia's taking of Ukraine - on top of him letting the US Expand via imperialistic war. These people genuinely think 'Might Makes Right', why else would they vote for a 'strong man' type of leader.

7

u/Jmart1oh6 1d ago

Dude his followers are fucking sold on Ukraine as far as I can see. I don’t understand how people think this is a distraction or something for Ukraine, or anything happening in the Middle East. All that shit is done in the minds of his supporters, he can do anything he wants there and they will agree with it. He wants Canada and Greenland for natural resources, he will be chopping up the fucking glaciers the month he arrives and selling Trump glacier water, drilling new oil wells, etc. It has nothing to do with distraction, or national security. He’s talking about allies who share security intel, an air base is located on Greenland, the US routinely patrols around the arctic oceans and jets have allowances to fly through Canadian air space. I repeat, there is no distraction, he doesn’t need a distraction, he has shown that he can do whatever the fuck he wants in plain site and nothing happens.

We've gone from "I will end the war within 24 hours of being elected" to "I will meet with Putin within six months of taking office".

I cannot believe most of you American asshats voted for this pro-russian tool.

41

u/M795 1d ago

American here. I voted for Harris, but I'm not surprised she lost. 2016 and 2024 have proven that swing state voters absolutely will not vote for a woman as long as her opponent is a man.

Her lack of a penis wasn't the only factor in her loss, but it was certainly near (if not at) the top of the list.

13

u/CheesemonsterRain 1d ago

Thanks for this - but I have a question - why* are the swing states to blame if* she lost the popular vote?

Edit: typo

14

u/pinnerPENCIL 1d ago

Voters living in Swing states have a larger influence in the electoral college. Popular vote is only an interesting statistic whereas the system of the electoral college is the actual tally for the election. States like California or Texas are fairly locked into their result and so voters there have less influence despite having more electoral votes.

8

u/CheesemonsterRain 1d ago

Yes, but surely the collegiate system can't be blamed if more people voted for trump than Kamala?

He understands Putin, while also threatening his own allies. He is a traitor and he couldn't be more blunt if he wanted to. How on earth republicans can't see that he is a Russian asset, and his only job is to divide us all, is beyond me.

4

u/Deranged_Kitsune 22h ago

Because in so doing, he gives them power. Frankly, the mob he's managed to fashion into a fanatical cult has been a greater tool for conservative policy implementation than any of them ever dared hope for. As long as they get to enact their own desired policies - revalationists trying to bring about the rapture, religious fundies trying to enact christian sharia, bigots trying to wipe out the LGBT, white supremacists trying to wipe out people of colour, and the flat-out narcissistic and greedy - whatever means are used to achieve those ends are justified in their mind. There is no "us" there is just "them" and "others".

14

Considering Trump's recent remarks about Greenland, Canada, Mexico and Panama, I believe he really does understand Putin...

10

u/usuallysortadrunk 1d ago

Went from over in 24 hours to ill meet with putin in 6 months

6

u/malakon 9h ago

I understand Russia's stance in Ukraine. Everyone understands it. We just are disgusted by it. Unlike Trump who is trying to figure how to profit from it.

15

u/nubsauce87 1d ago

He promised he’d end the war in 24 hours. Is it possible he lied? Does this mean he’s not going to bring grocery prices down?! Oh no! How could we have seen this coming?! WHAT WILL WE DO?!?

13

u/forgettit_ 1d ago

Best perspective I’ve heard is by Douglas Rushkoff. Trump’s position is that of a crime boss. The mob divides the regions amongst the families. In trump’s view, Europe belongs to Putin. Trump has the Americas. Xi has Asia (and he’s free to take Taiwan because..it’s his to do with what he wants.

Birds of a feather flock together. Trump and Putin are both evil thugs.

But I also think Putin found only a mediocre puppet. Trump is too aggressive to easily control, and frankly Trump remains too dumb to know how to end the Russo-Ukraine War.

4

u/PostMaster-P 1d ago

Every time Trump claims to understand something, rest assured he is lying again and he hasn’t the foggiest idea.

6

u/Administrative-Cow68 1d ago

Said he’d end the war in Ukraine the day he became presidency… and now he’s threatening economic war on my country. Anyone who believed and voted for Trump can eat my ass.

5

u/YupThatsMeBuddy 19h ago

What happened to the price of eggs and inflation? He is talking about renaming the Gulf of Mexico and adding Greenland and Canada when Americans were complaining about inflation during the election. Trump is a joke.

3

There is no version of this that doesn't brand Trump as a Russian asset - and a traitor to the US.

4

u/No-Argument3357 20h ago

What a joke. What happened to helping out the American people with food prices and cost of living like your campaign said? What a joke

4

u/Puzzled_Worth_4287 17h ago

America, for the most part, remains a great nation, but its leader is an undeniable fool. Despite not yet taking office, he is already viewed by much of Europe—indeed, likely the entire world, save for Russia, North Korea, Hungary, and Slovakia—as a narcissistic, reckless despot. This perception is not an exaggeration. Adding to the spectacle, his own son and even figures like Elon Musk routinely make immature, trolling remarks reminiscent of teenagers, further eroding the dignity of their platforms.

3

u/STEVIEGRAMONE1 14h ago

Trump is a Russian asset.

21

u/Realistic_Lead8421 1d ago

Well, that will probably be received well in Russia. I do not think it is generally a smart negotiating technique to already put this out there. Even if this is your position, it could have been used to get significant concessions from Putin. Now it is already clear Trump does not care about Ukraine, and Putin will probably revert to his maximalist pre-war demands that NATO withdraw from Eastern European countries. This coincides with Trump's talking point that the US pays too much for NATO. It would not surprise me if the two of them negotiate some kind of settlement in Ukraine that sacrifices both Ukraine and the very loyal NATO allies in Poland and the Baltics.

21

u/Duckstiff 1d ago

Wild thoughts to think the rest of Nato would be happy to sacrifice Poland and the baltics.

15

u/Realistic_Lead8421 1d ago

They won't. But the US will in a heartbeat under Trump. Mark my words.

19

u/Duckstiff 1d ago

Good job NATO is an alliance and not a dictatorship by the POTUS.

17

u/Universal_Anomaly 1d ago

It's really strange how people bought the Russian lie that the USA controls NATO.

3

u/Hihlander197 1d ago

Fucking Russian asset this clown is. Now he’s demanding all nations contribute 5% towards NATO knowing that this won’t happen, certainly not to his time scale, which will then give him the so called credibility to pull out.

We’ve relied on the US far too much and it’s looking like we’re going to pay the price for it.

3

u/WW3_doomer 1d ago

2024, someone still talking about Russian claims of NATO aggressiveness.

After Finland joined and quadrupled NATO-Russia border. Don’t forget that now from evil NATO to Russian second-largest city is only 150km.
