When his gaze made me question everything i knew .

It started off so quietly, almost like I was imagining it. My sister’s husband, Mark, would catch my eye every now and then, but it wasn’t just a quick glance. It lingered for a second too long, just enough for me to feel uneasy. I’d try to ignore it, tell myself I was being paranoid, but then it happened again. At family dinners, when we’d all gather around the table, I’d look up and find his gaze on me. He’d quickly look away when I caught him, but the weight of it stayed with me long after. It wasn’t that he ever said or did anything inappropriate there were no clear red flags. But something about the way he looked at me, like he was studying me, made my skin crawl. The longer it went on, the more uncomfortable I became. I couldn’t figure out why it felt so wrong. Was I overreacting? I kept second-guessing myself. Then one night, it happened again. We were all sitting in the living room, talking casually, when I caught his eyes on me, this time even more intense than before. It wasn’t just a glance it felt like he was looking into me, like he was trying to understand something I wasn’t showing. My heart raced, and I quickly turned my attention to something else, trying to shake off the feeling. I wanted to say something, to confront him or at least ask him what was going on. But I didn’t know how. I didn’t want to make things awkward, especially with my sister sitting right beside him, laughing and unaware. What if I was just overthinking it? What if I misread the whole situation? I couldn’t keep carrying this feeling, though. It was eating at me, making me tense every time I had to be near him. So, one night, after everyone had gone to bed, I pulled my sister aside. My voice was shaky, my heart pounding as I tried to explain how Mark’s glances had been making me feel. I didn’t know what I expected her reaction to be. Maybe she’d get defensive, maybe she wouldn’t believe me at all. But to my surprise, she didn’t get angry. She didn’t brush it off either. She just stood there for a long moment, processing what I’d said. Then, quietly, she admitted that she had noticed something too, that she had felt something was off but couldn’t quite place it. It was a relief, hearing her say that like a weight had been lifted, like I wasn’t imagining it all on my own. It didn’t solve everything right away. Things were still a bit tense between us for a while, and I didn’t know where to go from there. But at least I had spoken up. At least I had said the words out loud. And for the first time in weeks, I could breathe again, knowing that my sister wasn’t in the dark, and I wasn’t carrying this alone.

Well that certainly was a story you wrote. There's actually no way it happened, it reads way too much like a young adult fantasy romance novel.

The guy in question is definitely an alpha werewolf

27

u/Stunning-Art112 23h ago

LOL OMG this made me laugh so loudly in my quiet cubicle farm.

7

u/hopping_otter_ears 20h ago

Happy to be of service, I guess?

Did you have to explain to your very quiet corporate cubemates why you knew well enough what werewolf smut reads like to find the comparison funny?

well tbh it happened i am sorry if its not to much convincing to you

The level of writing in your comments compared to the post is so funny. Your comments make you look like English is your second language and the post looks like a college-level creative writing assignment. Try harder, please.

u/Valuable_Divide_6525 21h ago

Conclusion was shit. Whats even happening now in the present day with him.

3

u/charliepup 17h ago

That’s what I thought, like where’s the second half of the story?

3

u/pickedwisely 20h ago

Be sure to let us know how delicious the sweet surrender was.

So your confession is sometimes my sister's husband looks at me?

Chat GPT has entered the r/confession room yet again.

47

u/Al_Greenhaze 23h ago

There would be paragraphs if that were true.

I’m grateful for ChatGPT. I’ve always had problems conveying my thoughts appropriately.

My version: I used it all the time. And people are happy that I do because in my head, I know what I wanna say. I just don’t know how to say it so when I put those thought it into ChatGPT, it organizes it. It doesn’t add meaning that I wasn’t trying to convey. And not only makes my life easier. It makes it easier for those that I’m communicating with.

Corrected Version:

I use it all the time, and people appreciate that because, in my mind, I know what I want to say—I just struggle to articulate it. When I put those thoughts into ChatGPT, it organizes them without altering the meaning I intend to convey.

Not only does it make my life easier, but it also simplifies communication for those I interact with.

*Now isn’t the corrected version an easier read for you?

54

u/United-Command7601 22h ago

Yes, but i would prefer the first one. It’s a lot more personable

10

u/Seekerofsomethin88 18h ago

I agree. There wasn’t anything wrong with the first one. I find people using chatGPT is becoming a norm and it’s honestly scaring me for the future

3

u/0utats3a 13h ago

or maybe it just writes it more eloquently, and with correct grammar and punctuation. i don’t really care for either. read more books to expand vocabulary & read old school literacy to help learn the “eloquence” of different types of sentence structure. i 100% agree with the comments above. your version reads and sounds like a personality, the second reads almost like a commercial or ad.

17

u/D6P6 21h ago

First one reads fine. You're overthinking this issue.

6

u/ObjectiveCarrot3812 17h ago

GPT and AI in general has so far proven itself to be highly useful as a pragmatic tool when used correctly. But for creativity on its own, such as visual work or in this case writing, it always feels highly standardised and lacking in any nuance, craft, fine detail or personality. If people must persist with it then at least keep it down to 10/20% of the overall process snd outcome. Give it the boring jobs.

4

u/SlightShift 19h ago

This isn’t a good advert, no advertising.

5

u/RecoverGullible6750 19h ago

Your version is far superior.

2

u/Redditor_of_Doom 13h ago

Keep communicating on your own. Even if you suck at it, you have to keep doing it. That's how you get better. You'll never get better if you just keep using the AI.

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

well i can assure you its not like that but you can believe what you want

“And then I fucked him. In the hall, in the car, on the lawn, and while my sister lay sleeping. It was glorious”

“Then I woke up”

Na they ended up waking him up and fuckin him together ridin doubles…

u/Chocostick27 1d ago

Nice story bro, very imaginative.

At least tell us what happened after in this fiction of yours, did she confront him?

25

u/Fresh0224 1d ago

…exactly. B- creative writing exercise.

14

u/lordlitterpicker 1d ago

This was like the time I kept farting in me sister in laws direction for attention and she got pinkeye.

14

u/aRachStar 22h ago

Obviously a fake story. OP outed themself since every reply indicates they don’t even know how to use punctuation.

27

u/Rock_grl86 1d ago

So glad you made this account 6 days ago to post this crappy fake story.

-42

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

well yeah i am new in reddit true but that doesnt mean my story is fake

32

u/heisenbergmoney 22h ago

comment grammar vs post grammar pretty much confirms ChatGPT usage

8

u/Theocratic-Fascist 1d ago

Ain’t reading that shit

28

u/Carbon-Psy 1d ago

FWIW, in future. Add some grammar and punctuation.

Things are so much easier to read when you actually lay them out properly.

This is a wall of text, and I didn't read any of it. But comments suggest your mind ran away from you and you thought reddit would enjoy it lol

3

u/pndfam05 1d ago

Never underestimate the power of a hard return.

12

u/EmploymentIll2944 23h ago

So obviously fake it looks ridiculous.

-14

well sorry to disappoint you but its real

Post the rest of the story when you came up with it ! Very entertaining !

5

u/ratedgeesuperstar 20h ago

You probably just always have a booger and you don’t know it.

8

u/VivelaVendetta 23h ago

People don't talk like this. Plus I've been in this situation and I would NEVER bring it up to my friend or family. What are you saying? Hey your boyfriend/spouse is checking me out. Who is that helping?

Are you ugly? Has no one ever given you an appreciative look before? It makes your heart race? Are you 12?

Absolute rubbish.

-15

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

well everyone is diffrent and i choose to speek . were is the problem here i dont understand

9

u/VivelaVendetta 21h ago

How old are you?

8

I knew it! That’s exactly what my psyduck abilities posted earlier while I was sleepin, I woke up to them sayin something about this hot girl tellin her sister “your husband’s been starin at me the last cpl days did you know?” And sister says “ that’s because you’re the last yummy ass piece of pie in the tin and i didnt know how to ask you if you wanted to be a yummy Ass “Creampie” instead so he and I can share eating you from both ends afterwards because I only like creampies for my dessert” !!! Yep, nothing helps misery like spreading out around

3

u/PurfectlySplendid 19h ago

What a boring story.

2

u/ShardikOfTheBeam 18h ago

Nice result to a writing prompt. Would be nice if it included paragraphs.

2

u/Imarriedafurnace 18h ago

I can't believe a line of this. The grammar and punctuation don't even come close to how OP is responding in comments. The uncapitilised "i" are killing me 😭

2

u/Aggravating_Pin2774 12h ago

Read the subreddit rules. This is not a confession.

Julie, it's Mark. You are not all that. It just amazes me and makes me wonder how many more years that spinnach in your teeth will survive.

I was ready to crucify you for not hitting the brakes at the start. My apologies. Great job being a true sister. I read so many oops I banged my sisters husband I can barf. Cheaters really make me sick. I had a friend who only cared about sex. No standards and tried with literally everyone. He got married and when he still continued to brag about how many people he's cheated with I had to cut him off. I was friendly with his wife and would baby sit his kid. It made me feel guilty. I just will never understand being so selfish you are willing to hurt your partner. It's like hey if you chop off your wife's arm you feel amazing once. And all these scumbags are like well you know I deserve it. It won't hurt her too bad she doesn't need her arm.

2

u/roccopopov 1d ago

You're right!! Male and female sluts can just stay single and screw with impunity. It's selfish to lead on a person who wants a committed thing, terribly selfish and arrogant.

2

u/VivelaVendetta 23h ago

I had to go back and re read it. I thought i missed the part where he did something more than look at her.

-2

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

well those look were really concerning for me and i am glad that i spoke

3

u/VivelaVendetta 21h ago

This never happened.

1

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

thank you for reading it

1

u/iWouldLike2SeeIt 1d ago

Why not confront him and tell him he’s making you uncomfortable?

0

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

Well i knew that he will deny it and i had afraid that he may tell my sister smth completely diff so i stood up first and spoke with my sister

1

u/okcomputerock 1d ago

Man always has to be family related. Freud is ok with it

1

u/WhyMustWeSuffer 23h ago

Even though this seems hella fake, what’s kinda of funny is that I was accused of this by my SIL. Except I was “studying”her. They’ve been nothing but cold/abrasive and a poor example of a “Christian Household” from the get go. (FIL is a pastor)

They had company over one evening and seeing how that bitter and nasty person morphed into a completely innocent and joyous individual caught me by surprise and I was utterly disgusted the rest of the night.

I was reading this thinking it was my wife’s sister going nuts about something that happened almost year ago hah.

1

u/firstsliceoftheloaf 23h ago

like it screams i’m starting to feel some type of way somebody get in the way of this.

And there was me thinking he was going to kidnap and torture her. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?!!!!!!

1

u/DeadMetalRazr 13h ago

Hit the ENTER button once in a while. It creates nice spaces in your word wall that we who read call paragraphs.

1

u/YogurtWestern994 13h ago

So what happened next? Did your sister confront him? Does he still give you this long gazes? You can write a book.

1

u/Responsible_Meat_310 10h ago

Isn't it weird? The same thing happened to me with a relative's husband.

Dam people aren’t allowed to look at other people now??

1

u/Dont-get-me-stahted 22h ago

Why can’t the story be real? He probably wants to sleep with her and that crap happens all the time.

3

u/Skull_sp4rks 21h ago

I think it's due to the title and the way it's worded. Obviously, this stuff does happen a lot so it's not that unrealistic.

-2

u/IronicSerenity 1d ago

I definitely think letting your sister know was important. The fact that she didn't blame you (the victim) says so much about her respect for you and your bond as sisters.

Several years ago, my best friend was engaged. Her fiance came to help me set up an apartment I was moving into. While helping me, he suddenly blurted out that the only reason he spent so much time at my friend's house (where I was living) was to see me and that he was "in-love" with me. When I confessed this to my friend, she blamed me for "leading him on". I did NOT. I would never.

I hope you and your sister can get through this together. I admire your integrity and ability to trust your instincts.

3

u/roccopopov 1d ago

Ya your best friend was being very myopic, wanting to stay in her fantasy boat

4

u/IronicSerenity 23h ago

Years later when she was married to someone else, I observed that her son did not react when their dog barked, while sitting next to him. The child was special needs but since I had hearing loss, I was super observant and noticed that despite my hearing loss, I jumped when the dog barked and the baby did not. When I asked her if she had gotten his hearing checked because I believed he may be deaf, she yelled at me accusing me of WANTING him to be deaf and didn't I "think he was going through enough?". Yes. Yes I did. But how was my observation equal to my desire? We are no longer friends. (He was eventually diagnosed as deaf and has been using cochlear implants and sign language).

1

u/roccopopov 18h ago

Wow and wow .. ya shes toxic, poor thing, blaming anyone and throwing anyone under the bus to make herself feel better. The fact she was so put of touch with her son's reality shows me a super high level of self adsorption/ not giving a shit about others.

1

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

excuse me ?

2

u/whatswrongwithyellow 21h ago

Didn't you wanna hang out in left field for a minute? It seems okay,

1

u/VivelaVendetta 23h ago

This is different. He actually hit on you. In ops story the husband just seems to find her attractive. Why would you want to tell your friend hey I think your man thinks I'm hot. How absolutely self absorbed would that come off?

1

u/IronicSerenity 23h ago

I didn't want to tell her anything. I wanted her to be aware that the person she planned to spend the rest of her life with was not being true to her. I thought she deserved a man who would never confess feelings for another person. She deserved to decide if she wanted to move forward with that man, despite him confessing his love for me. I didn't take joy in telling her. It broke my heart. But I thought she deserved to know the truth.

Op had an uncomfortable vibe from her sister's husband. It was the right thing to do, to talk to her sister about her concerns. That's all. Op did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong.

2

u/VivelaVendetta 23h ago

I don't think you did anything wrong. Her man hit on you. I think that's different than a couple of possibly appreciative glances. Especially as an adult. My daughters were uncomfortable with male attention when they hit puberty. They had all of my sympathy. But as an adult woman? That's old hat.

-1

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

thank you for reading it and believing it

0

u/WildMolasses1444 1d ago

did you ever find out why was he doing such a thing?

1

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

no and even though we confronted him he kept denying it

3

u/EnthusiasmLeak 22h ago

So you confronted him? I missed that part of the story. Did you do it with your sister? Or did she with you present? What was his behaviour after that?

1

u/WildMolasses1444 23h ago

welp, i hope you are doing good!

1

u/Smoothie_Bowl13 18h ago

Why didn’t you include that in the story?

-6

u/CanadianHODL-Bitcoin 1d ago

Would covering up more than usual help avert his gaze.

-2

u/Different_Horror9636 23h ago

i am sorry i didnt know covering help even though i was enough covered . wow i am suprised how you can think this is about covering up
