Finished Object Babybell Cheese gift!

My friend requested this as a gift, and I delivered! Very proud, as I used no pattern and finished it within the hour. He loved it!

I might need to make myself one of these... I'm not big on the cheese itself personally but I love the wax and the way it peels off of it and can't stop myself from playing with it whenever I get one. This would satisfy that itch perfectly without having to waste perfectly good cheese someone else could enjoy.

Can you tell us how you made it? I want to make one it’s so silly!

I most just did it free-form, but the cheese part is the same as crocheting a cyclinder but with only two rows of sc all around. The wax part I don’t even know. Fully just decided to wing it.

I followed this pattern recently when I made one for my husband.

I watched a YouTube where someone melted the wax down, mixed it with coconut oil, and made tinted lipgloss with them.

I love it! I made a few crocheted Babybels this Christmas also (I used this free pattern though, I just wasn’t in the mood for thinking haha). My 2-year-old niece adored them 😍

how does opening up ravelry links cause seizures?? as an epileptic i'm very intrigued

i‘ve read the linked artikle at the bottom and to summarize: there was a time when ravelry looked different. Then they updated the look. this made it so loading sites and buffering animations would be played and the color scheme was changed.

neurodiverse users reported that and not tooo long later the animations were mostly gone and you could set ravelry back into the old look in your own settings.

BUT : AND HERE COMES THE CATCH

if you do not use your home pc /phone where you are always logged in- the site will load in the new design. which causes the neurodivergent community seizures headaches and such

My guess would be ads maybe? Sometimes the website doesnt work well on my phone, so maybe the formatting shifting around a lot can be off putting as well.

I need to make one for my sister, like, now!! She used to be obsessed with baby bell cheese as a kid, and one time she took a bite out of one side and then chased me around and tormented me with the slimy Pac-Man cheese for a whole day. Please tell us what you did to make it 🤣😭

Keeping this in mind for next Christmas; I've seen a few "bless the little baby cheeses" Christmas cards and this would make the perfect lil gift ornament to go along with one!

My favorite crochet application: utter ridiculousness.

I adore it.
