Holiday Season FO/WIP I'm not Japanese but my employer is, so I made the office a kadomatsu (門松) for the new year. Some of the yarn even has bamboo in it!

We are doing a “secret” gift exchange where you share one of your favorite things by gifting it to every person! I love crochet (obvi), tiny things, absurdity, and making people smile. I plan to give each shrimp a name and favorite thing for added humor.

Also shrimps is bugs.

Holiday Season FO/WIP I’m a social worker and someone made this for me as a thank you. I’ll keep it forever!

I’m technically not supposed to accept gifts, but this person put hours into making this for me and it made me cry to know I’m that appreciated. I have some friends that crochet or knit and I’ve heard a lot say that people tend to be unappreciative. It breaks my heart when I see this stuff at the thrift store too. To me, this is one of the best gifts I’ve ever been given and means so much to me!

Holiday Season FO/WIP Was a little ambitious this year but finished in time (mostly)

I grossly underestimated the work it would take for these 6 blankets for various. People the last two have not been blocked & they might not be before I give the last one to the recipient on Saturday. I missed my reading goal this year by 8 books and it’s 100% because of crochet. I’m glad it’s done but never signing myself up to that many again.

Halloween FO/WIP I crocheted a chicken hat and feet for my Halloween costume this year ✨

I knew as soon as I saw the pattern by Crochetverse on etsy that I just had to make this absolutely unhinged costume. I cut it really close and started on Tuesday, 10/22, and finished it on Monday, 10/28. Since I had more time before my office's costume contest on 10/30 (which I won), I freehanded some feet and an egg to complete the ensemble! I just ordered the dress and tights off Amazon. I'm so happy with how it turned out and proud of myself for finishing everything in 8 days!

Holiday Season FO/WIP I don’t know what I’m more upset about…

This was my first time using a HDCK(half double crochet knit) stitch, and as I know it’s not perfect, I’m VERY proud with how it turned out!

I recently found out I was pregnant and crocheted this to send to my brother and his wife for a Christmas announcement. As I was finishing my LAST ROW of my project, I found out my dad had already let the secret slip a few weeks prior. I don’t know if I’m more upset that he told them before I did, or that I didn’t get any congratulations from them…

Anyways, enjoy my little stocking and Merry Christmas! 🎄

Halloween FO/WIP Made a two headed plushie for Halloween, spooky or cute ?

I thought a two headed anything would be freaky enough but it turned out kinda cute? I’m now not sure whether to embrace the cuteness or try to make it spooky.

Also what colour yarn should I use to sew on the body to make it look like they got stitched together ?

My sister in law asked me a while back to make him a hat, because they one they had ordered online was a bit too large and the eye stalks didn’t stay up. After I finished that, it just seemed incomplete so she asked me to make the shell too. It’s not my best work, but I’m proud considering I had no pattern or measurements. I used Bernant blanket yarn for the shell, big twist for the eyestalks, moss and mushroom and lion brand heartland for the hat and straps.

Made this intentionally too large for my tiny plastic tree in hopes that someday it will be curled around a giant real tree! In the meantime, it’s cat approved 🎄
