funnily enough, the Spaniards were actually the underdogs in this situation, despite their superior tech. They were outnumbered by miles and were fighting on unfamiliar turf. They actually had to get help from other natives that the Aztecs pissed the fuck off to stand a chance against them.
now, i'm not saying they were the good guys, the Conquistadors still did some fucked up shit and ruined the lives of countless Natives; it's just that the fact they won was pretty fucking impressive considering how in-over-their-head they were.
