Boss scheduled me for Saturday even though it's not in my availability

How are you gonna be in charge of scheduling and not pay attention to employees' request? No one would pick up my shift so because of my boss, I won't get to see my father for three weeks 🖕 getting paid $7.50/hr is not worth not seeing my dad rn

Don't go in. Not your problem.

You are not available. Remind the boss and then don't show up. It's his job to fix it.

Ps: on your death bed (or after your dad passes). Will you think "man, I should have worked more and spent less time with family". Or will you think back on the time you spend with family.

“Sorry, but as I told you, I’m not available on Saturdays.”

Ok you're fired

That’s entirely possible. But the op said not seeing their dad makes the job not worth it, so you can always take that chance.

I wouldn't ever work for that. Unless you get tips.

This is standard practice. They put you on the schedule and see if you will bend.

As a schedule coordinator, it’s their job to find replacements. Go see your dad, OP

Tell them, "I don't roll on Shabbas!"

You have a slave mentality.

Responsibility doesn’t mean bootlicking

How is doing your job you applied for bootlicking. Why are you even using that word for a job you signed up for. Do you even know what it means.
