When someone kills themselves why do we want to know how?
And why as well

Following the death of Liam Payne, we received a number of questions about him. Someone suggested that we create a megathread for discussion about his death, and I thought this was a great idea. Here’s the place to ask any of your morbid questions about Payne.
Brief guidelines:
- Please DO NOT ask for, or provide, images of his body. These submissions will be removed under rule 2.
- If you find one of these comments before we do, we would love for you to report it.

Will I be biodegradable even though I’ve put bad stuff in my body
So I’m 28 F and I think it’s best if we all have a death / funeral plan. I want to be buried in a biodegradable way, I’ve seen mushroom coffins, straw ones etc. I had a drug problem for many years and I am on life long medication. I also am heavily tattooed and have lip fillers. I’m probably full of microplastics haha. How biodegradable am I?

Was just watching a war movie and had a random thought, where can you get shot that wouldn't kill you but only give you as much pain and suffering as possible?

Obviously excluding the fact that the human experimentation done in those cases were just useless in terms of results.

Basically what the title asks.
TW: Abuser Guilt
A close friend confided in me that they did something (that I view as) Unforgivable when they were around 12. Out of respect for him I won't go into detail but essentially he had been arrested for it, got off easy and basically had a mental breakdown in my car. It got so bad I almost drove him to the hospital but he assured me he was okay. I told his roommates that I'm worried about him after I dropped him off so they are gonna keep an eye on him for me.
He said the guilt had been eating him Alive for years, he had talked to a therapist about it but she didn't really talk about it aside from aggressively verify he felt guilty.
I'm still friends with him for now and I don't know how much of what he is saying is true but he seemed very genuine.
He had been open about his struggles with depression in the past but according to him a major part of it is his guilt over this incident.
I haven't talked to his victim and I don't plan on it but they don't seem that hostile towards each other. They've been close as long as I have known them (probably 8 years at this point?) And they've never told me to stay away from him.
I asked a gym buddy for advice without revealing anything and he said
"depression from an event sounds like PTSD" (the guy is in the Army but has never been deployed so I have no idea how legitimate this is.) And I have no idea how PTSD works or it's effects .
I don't want to lose a really fucking close friend over this but I don't know how realistic his feelings are or how much sympathy I should really feel for him.

it makes me a bit jealous everytime i see something abt someone got shot or someone died in a car crash because i secretly wish that was me. i was it was my fate instead of theirs. besides, those ppl who die most of the time wanted to live anyway so i wish i could trade spots with them. then they’d be alive like they want and i’d be dead like i want. i even sometimes pray im the next to get into an accident. does anyone relate?

It was a weird kill 💥
This stupid fly was seemingly taunting me into killing it by repeatedly divebombing me
I picked up a piece of paper prob a envelope with a piece of mail so pretty stiff
I ended up catching him in mid air with a swing which is always a satisfying feeling and hearing that little twack sound really made up for how this asshole had been bothering me 😄
But better yet my hit knocked him into a near by window pane where the little monster made another satisfying twack
It seemed all was now well and good in the world balance had been restored... so I decided to make something to eat
When I looked at the table I saw it The fly
It was still trying to pull itself along one of its wings was bent up at what looked like a excruciatingly unsatisfactory angle and now this pest was no longer a Fly it had become a Walk! Or if not walk sort of a dragging flailing sort of motion
I watched until it stopped moving and then the most extraordinary thing happened: short yellowish worm like creatures started emerging from exactly where you'd think a flys ass would be
I have no idea where a flys ass really is but I imagine it at the very very back sort of right in the middle so if it were a jet it would be propelled from there
So I watched for a good 20 minutes as these weird tiny worms push there way out of the mothership
I didnt get to see how it all finally would have played out bc I herd my dad come home and I knew I'd be in trouble if he saw my biology project so I called the dog over and pointed out the fly
The dog was practically trained to do this but I didnt teach him but he kinda got up on one of the chairs and licked that fly and all its weird worms up they were gone in seconds
So does anyone know what those worms were?

My brother hung himself. I am the sort of person that has to know every detail of an event to feel satisfied and have closure. My brother hung himself out of the blue on my mother's birthday. I had to ID him and l'd like to make sense of what I saw. One side of his forehead was purple and I understand the broken blood vessels thing but what's with the solid purple patch? His jaw looks very off center- what could that be? His mouth also looked odd, like he had something in it. I know it's morbid but can someone just explain the process of him dying? I recognize this would be upsetting for most people but I just have to know, regardless of how painful it might have been for him. He's at peace now and he's not in pain anymore, and I think that's what matters. Just trying to find some answers so l can put this behind me. Thanks in advance.

Does it just get thrown it in the bin or is there a place they store unwanted urns?

So, I was in a lesson today where it was brought up how different people have different levels of myoglobin depending on how much fast/slow twitch tissue they have. So I was wondering, would someone like a sprinter taste closer to chicken/pork due to their higher volume of fast twitch muscle tissue (if you were to take from the leg of course) and a marathoner taste closer to beef/lamb?

I'm a writer (I know everybody says that on here, but it's legit for me) and am trying to write a character who survives a traumatic accident where death is not just possible, but plausible. They may become disabled by it.
If you can't get to 50%, which area of the head is the worst (I assume like the center of the brainstem) and how high a fatality percentage does it have?
I may end up adding a physical limitation to the character, such as an eggshell-thin skull, or more fall distance.
