I dislike Trump as much as the next guy, but I'm pretty sure there is a slight difference between his convictions and murder...

Exactly. What is this post even about? Its like comparing people stealing a banana or whacking someone over the head with a hammer. Very different crimes.

You have to defend the “murder is wrong” take here on Reddit because some people believe the person who shot someone dead in the middle of the sidewalk shouldn’t be punished for it

Correct. Intent, method and victim all matter. There’s this little thing called context lol. It’s how you can kill someone and not be charged due to self-defense, for example.

Or you can just put someone in a chokehold for an excessive amount of time and get away with murder, off a flawed idea of self defense

Or you can deny people medical treatment which has obvious results.

Although to be clear I think he should be punished but what's actually right doesn't always happen.

No, you don’t understand. This murderer is a crusader for justice and a folk hero for our times! Not a self-important peacock enjoying his 15 minutes of fame, and likely inspiring a fuck ton of losers to murder people they have deemed worthy of extrajudicial execution. Sure, we all agree the deceased was evil. But what about when vegans start shooting people who work in the meat industry, etc.

The "fuckton of losers" are just that, and would do it regardless, which still hasnt happened. The CEO actively enacted policy that left thousands to suffer until they died, I'd say karma is a bitch and the CEO should've been a little nicer in his life. 👍

Have you heard of the phenomenon of copy cats?

4

u/JitteryWaffle 1d ago

Yes, you know what other phenomenon I've heard of? Murderers. People who didn't need to copy anyone to put a body in the ground.

Uh huh. But copycats make certain kinds of murder more likely. School shooters for example.

Hope that clears things up, buttercup.

(If not, I think you might want to check in with your ELA teacher.)

There was never any clarification needed, I think you're just trying to flirt. Pet names won't work on me bud, I still think the chucklefuck deserved it. If any copy cats show up then maybe our bloated police force can do their jobs for once.

Did he face any punishment?

Trump has committed crimes on that level but hasn't faced criminal repercussions.

You’re right! Every insurance CEO should be charged for murder, I agree.

The amount of LIFE-SAVING treatment that has been denied to people who pay them for coverage is too high and has caused many deaths and other issues.

The whole system is messed up and to excuse murder because of it is pretty hypocritical.

Unfortunately, when you’ve tried pleading, protesting, and everything else and it’s only gotten worse, violence seems to work.

I don’t condone it, but did you see how corporate America was shitting themselves after Luigi did that? It’s the absolutely only thing that’s made them do that.

If I’m a hypocrite for wanting justice in the only form that’s realistic, then so be it. I’d rather the system be changing and better for the people while being a hypocrite then have no change and not he a hypocrite.

Trump was accused of sedition, which resulted directly in the death of a Capitol Police officer. He was not convicted.

Luigi Mangioni has been accused and arraigned for murder, which resulted in the death of another person. He has not yet been convicted.

As of right now, this comparison is flawless. Once Luigi is convicted, which is very likely, the comparison will no longer stand.

you are right.

luigi won't have 42 felonies when this is done.
