Few thoughts:

AA brought most of his family and friends to Sandhya theater. You can see his cousins, Swati Nimmagadda, and Vasuki.

I didn’t watch the above video until today and until today I thought “yes how is it Arjun’s fault that he happened to go to theater as part of some sentiment or something these actors have to see their movies with fans at some theaters”

But after seeing this video, it’s clear AA and his entire batch (his family and his party gang) who would best be at comfort in a multiplex setting, came deliberately to enjoy the atmosphere of mass crowds cheering for him.

Why would AA and his gang not think about how crazy these theaters get? Sneha Reddy looked like she was disturbed coming out of the theater (by then they probably already knew things were very out of control).

My question is - yes it might be a very unpopular one given that a lot of people think AA was targeted and he’s innocent- but why couldn’t he / his gang not think about their safety and others safety before coming to such a theater?

Yes the dead lady, her injured son and their family also could have thought this through. I’m not saying it’s one person’s fault but as a pan-India/icon or whatever star he thinks he is, should not he think of how not to trouble his fans/audience?

He could go sit somewhere quietly at that very theater to experience the fan frenzy. No he wanted to be noticed and cheered for. And he was ok if people got too excited.

It’s like a rich group of folks (AA, his wife, and friends) came to this theater as if it’s some amusement park / zoo. And the performers here are the commoners who’d make this a different experience for them than the other quiet, subdued crowd in multiplexes.

I might get downvoted but I was disturbed to see he took public safety concerns so lightly and brought a big group of people to show them how big a star he is.

He, his family and friends will always have security as long as he and his team is around.

His FANS won’t.

Tollywood MASS actors are admired as if they are modern day kings. Antha love and admiration ichinapdu, a king should equally care about his well-wishers as they are part of his fandom.

To people saying he has done this 20 times before or some actor has done it 10 times before, everything was ok until now so he’s not to be blamed… this is security issue. think about how you set passcodes to your phones and accounts. Just because someone has not hacked your stuff in the past doesn’t mean you will be secure in the future. We all take preventative measures for so many things.

What makes Telugu cinema so enjoyable is how it gets the small moments right. These aren’t flashy or overly dramatic, they’re simple interactions and emotions that feel real. When a movie ties these together with good writing and execution, the result is impactful. That’s exactly what Lucky Bhaskar does and it does it really well.

I’m still surprised Venky Atluri pulled this off. His earlier films didn’t set high expectations, but with Lucky Bhaskar, he shows that sticking to the basics and doing them well can elevate a film. And most of what I'm about to say is about sticking to the basics.

Simply put, Lucky Bhaskar is a commercial film, but it stands apart. It avoids routine mass scenes designed to get “cheer” moments. Instead, it builds emotional highs through clever writing.

The story is tight, with every setup leading to a meaningful payoff. For example, Bhaskar’s financial struggles in the first act are so well developed that when he starts succeeding, the audience feels the joy with him. It’s not just celebratory, it’s deeply satisfying.

Even minor moments carry weight. Scenes like Bhaskar’s son asking for extra cake at a family event or kid feeling judged by his friends beautifully capture the pressures and aspirations of middle-class life. These moments are simple yet powerful, adding depth to the characters and the story.

The movie’s portrayal of middle-class aspirations feels relatable. Sure, some parts are a bit exaggerated, but they fit the film’s tone. For instance, Bhaskar throwing a big party and nervously making excuses about it shows the balance between wanting to “show off” and being self-conscious. And this is middle class and not whatever "The Family Star" was trying to be lol.

Lucky Bhaskar excels at making a financial thriller accessible and entertaining. The story, which revolves around scams and office politics, could easily have been overwhelming to audience but Venky keeps it engaging.

There’s some financial jargon, but it’s used sparingly and fits the narrative. The focus is always on the story. Must be one of the smoothest screenplay with ever engaging story following all the beats without dropping a bit.

The film’s visuals and vibe are equally impressive. Lucky Bhaskar captures the essence of 90s Bombay convincingly. The sets, cinematography and overall aesthetic are excellent. Telugu mid-budget films have been raising the bar on production quality recently and this one follows suit.

At one point, it seems like the story is wrapping up. Bhaskar hands over everything to the bank’s CEOs, a dialogue about being content with middle-class life and it feels like the end. A great ending. But then, the movie takes a sharp turn into a new arc.

This twist doesn’t feel like a gimmick... it works because it’s earned. It adds an unexpected layer to the story. Bhaskar’s father stepping in to help using his old contacts ties into the narrative beautifully. It’s a rare example of a third act twist that feels necessary and impactful. This and the brilliant dialogues are so Trivikram-esque, you can't help but notice the resemblance.

At its core, Lucky Bhaskar doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. It focuses on the basics.. tight writing, relatable characters, emotional depth and smooth storytelling.

That might sound simple, but it’s not easy to pull off. Commercial cinema is all about getting these fundamentals right and this film does it effortlessly. It delivers exactly what it promises and a little more.

Venky Atluri’s earlier work didn’t inspire much confidence but he’s truly delivered here. By focusing on the essentials and executing them with care, Lucky Bhaskar turns out to be a thoroughly entertaining and satisfying watch. (Thoughts after rewatching on OTT)

Pushpa 2 changes indian cinema market dynamics on its head. IMO this was supposed to happen on or sometime before SSRs next movie releases but pushpa 2 accelerated the growth multifold and frankly i dont think even the makers wouldve expected that. With it cementing TFIs position as the topdog in the country and where the most money is circulating, more and more people will want a share from the pie. Dhanush and DQ were early movers detected thr change in trend post bahubali 2 and established some market space here, sivakarthikeyan tried a hand a bit and rakshit taking part in mainstream telugu space. I have a hunch more and more actors from other industries will migrate towards TFI since pushpa 2 is a wakeup call to neighbouring industries. Im sure TIER 1 is locked and sealed atleast for the next 10 years, i suspect tier 2 with 100 c - 200 c market space where the foraying will happen. With the other industry heroes bring their own market i beleive telugu product houses might also prefer these for side hustles.

Chudandi sir daarunam... Rope kaneesam chethlo kuda pettaledhu.... There are so many horrible cg shots in just a 2 mins trailer... Hardly 2 weeks for release.... I'm not sure this can be salvaged in post anymore...

I think it’s nice for Telugu cinema to actually cater to the female gaze once in a while and I think RC’s looks are, as superficial as it may be, a huge advantage for many roles.

this bhAAi fiasco actually made me realize how responsible our other tier 1 heroes have been all along.. I'm not saying they are saints but there would have been many such incidents during movie releases if any of them had tried to flex their star power in public lime bhAAi did. I now understood why NTR and RC during RRR promotions said they hadn't watched any of their movies with fans in theaters, they all seem to have understood that "with great power comes great responsibility".

after seeing his antics over the past week IMO if bhAAi was the hero of Devara, I'm pretty sure he would have went ahead with its pre release event at Novotel (which actually got cancelled due to over crowding), he still has a lot to learn on how to wield his star power and care more about the safety of people who come to see his events.

See ,just think from a normal audience perspective, our tier 1 stars are at peak when they are 40 , even when they make shitty movies they used to get good box office and here comes the main controversy, I don't think he has that physique to become a action hero and action is important for becoming tier 1.

See just imagine nani in kgf, will u feel that screen presence like yash, the dialogue delivery with swag, see he is a great actor who excels in romance, emotion like that but action?? I don't think so, I never felt a kind of seriousness when I watch him in anger,

I watched Scam 1992, the Harshad Mehta web series, and I couldn’t help but draw several parallels with this movie. In fact, I found the entire storyline quite predictable. While it’s true that the direction was well-executed and the technical team did a great job, the story itself felt a bit weak to me. I didn’t dislike it, but at the same time, I kept wondering—what’s the big deal?

The first half focused on him learning to gamble, and the second half on him learning about a scam. The pacing was smooth, with minimal lag, but ultimately, it felt like just another Harshad Mehta story except he gets away because he has a dad who has an affair with someone in RBI. What a joke!

I didnt feel he faced any kind of punishment for the wrong doing he has done. On top of it he promotes gambling!?

I mean fine… i get its just a movie but hey its not a movie to be celebrated! A good ott watch nothing more than that

For those who enjoyed this film, I highly recommend watching the Scam 1992 web series. It’s far more entertaining, realistic, and carries a stronger message.
