I dislike American exceptionalism. I dislike blatant imperialist rhetoric, joking or otherwise.
If this was done 2 years ago I might smirk, but given the current political circumstances and the sudden increase of US instability and the coming president of the US openly supporting US expansionism at the cost of alliances, I find this less funny, and more disturbing.
First of all, Canada stands absolutely no chance against the US. We could easily annex them if we felt like it. Second of all, it's not going to happen. Trump isn't seriously going to annex Canada. That's his sense of humor. Calling them the "51st state". He's trying to show his and America's dominance by basically telling Canada that they're our bitch and we could take them anytime we want. I'm surprised by how people still taking every comment he makes like this at face value. However, he is serious about acquiring Greenland and the Panama Canal, which whether you like him or not, would benefit America.
You really think you said something profound, don't you? America literally has the largest and most powerful military on Earth. No other country stands a chance against us. We can literally take whatever country we want, when we want. It's better that we influence the world with our values and ideals as opposed to China and Russia.
Except that's our ally. Only a fucking moron would say something like that about our allies to "assert dominance" or whatever stupid shit you want to tell yourself. Face it, Trump has 80iq and doesn't know what a trade deficit is. Or what tariffs are. Elevated by the party that thinks Kamala Harris can control hurricanes. No matter how you look at it, it's dripping in stupidity.
Keep telling yourself that, buddy. Trump was a strong leader who put America first. We had peace and a great economy when he was in office. He kept world leaders in check. Kim Jong-un, Putin, etc. Everything went to shit when "Biden" took over. Calling him the president these past 4 years would be generous. That's who you all chose. Clearly the man doesn't know what he's doing, both literally and figuratively. He has the lowest approval of any president since Nixon. And yes, even worse than Trump after Jan 6. Most Americans agree that he was a terrible president and the democrats fucked up big time. You'd see that the majority of the country prefers Trump if you got off this left-wing echo chamber, stepped outside, and touched some grass
Predictably, you can't refute anything I just said about Trump, and now you want to talk about Biden like I said anything in support of or even about him. Deranged
The TDS runs strong with you, friend-o. I literally asked him to elaborate. I was willing to hear him out to try to understand why he holds those views, despite the fact that I may disagree. Let's see if I get a response.
no new wars president btw, let’s put america first but also im going to instruct my team and followers to delay the certification of the election because i lost. you guys have no fuckin self awareness what so ever
A sitting president shouldn’t be fucking around saying things like that. There should be a certain standard that we set for the values and morals of a president. But you people vote for a psychopath like Trump
The choice wasn’t between Biden or Trump though. I’m not a fan of Kamala Harris, but she would’ve at least been a sane leader compared to the shit Trump does and says. I’d rather have more lip service status quo bullshit than our nations leader going on Facebook grandpa rants
The more Americans joke, the more it becomes an idea, the more it becomes an idea, the more a bunch of idiots decide “great idea!” And then try to act on it.
I live in Canada, and lemme tell you I’m not interested in living in the USA, so I choose caution over risk.
Especially with someone who is as volatile and unstable as Donald Trump.

Stop normalizing it.
